Assuming this won’t be announced until Gatineau is eliminated but hearing Darren Rumble will be the Eagles new head coach. I do find it strange tho Goyens isn’t fired yet with his replacement possibly already picked. I may be losing count but for someone like Squires entering his 3rd season at 18 would this be his 4th head coach in 3 seasons? Grimes, Cassidy, Goyens and....Rumble? What are we doing here.

The timeline will be interesting, Trotz takes over officially in Nashville on July 1st, so can he actually appoint staff or advisors prior to that?
A coaching change will have to happen prior to the draft, hell it should have been announced by now. A smooth transition from the Eagles to the Preds may be more difficult given the timeline.
Or maybe Trotz negociated Goyens in as part of his package. Rumor has it he helped get Goyens back into coaching, so he surely can help him get out.

Darren Rumble as an option does not seem realistic to me, but why pull that name out of a hat to start a rumor? There could be some truth to it I guess. Is there a Sly connection in there somewhere?

Does he have any other options? He's been an assistant in the league for 4 years now which means unless he's moving to another job outside the Q a head coaching job on a team looking to buy assets and win is a pretty good thing to walk into for a 2 year situation you would think.

Depending on how far Gatineau goes Rumble may get competing offers to join other teams including pro. Also maybe his contract would be worth more in CB too. Maybe get some perks added to any agreement. It's a small world and rumors do come up all the time. But still may be another month before anyone can say.

So, 2023 should look like this... 1 - 8th - Cap 1 - 16th - CHI (compensation) 2 - 24th - SJ 2 - 31st - CHI 4 - 74th - QUE 5 - 87th - ROU 6 - 97th - CHA 6 - 100th - CAP 7 - 118th - CAP 8 - 136th - CAP 8 - 137th - BAT 9 - 154th - CAP 11 -190th - CAP 13 -226th - CAP 14 -244th - CAP Looks like some compensation picks have been announced and the rule now extends into the 2nd round. Cape is listed as having a compensation pick at #34 , which would mean then have filed for one on Luka Cloutier. I guess that means he will not be reporting, unless that can change again between now and the draft. 2nd round now has 3 picks. (the order has dropped a bit due to the added comp picks) 24th (STJ) 32nd (CAP) 34th (CAP Compensation) Picks past #

I go to the draft part of the Q website and it's not updated with the 2023 draft order yet.

They do a great job on the French boards, Nous Les Fans of updating the draft order/pick bank. I as well have been trying to find something on the 2nd round compensation picks as it used to only include first round selections but from what I can tell it has moved to include the 2nd round. A team would have to announce to the league that they want compensation in order to get the draft order in check prior to June 6th.
