This is the never ending trade tree. They don't really have room for Pearson, maybe they will keep him until the TDL.

Will be interesting to see if Pearson has anything left after the Canucks medical staff mangled his hand injury last year
heard he wasn't happy with the trade... going from that to the team with the most injuries in the past 2-3 years and a question mark surrounding our own medical processes can't say I blame him
oh well.... gonna be another long year but let's see forward progression from the youngsters and i'll be happy

I'll be honest, I know nothing of Habs draftee, Bogdan Konyushkov.
Drafted in the 4th rd of the 2023 NHL draft, the 20yr old dman is off to a a good start in the KHL as he has 7pts in 11gp to start the season.
Anyone with any scouting report on him or his potential, I would love to read it

Mallioux is apparently having a great camp with the Habs.....and Trudeau is not far away, ala Barron.

Trudeau has made huge strides, he would have probably been a bigger star in the Q if not behind Cormier. Engstrom is another guy in Europe you don't hear a lot about but he is playing big minutes SHL and is not yet 20 years old.

Asset management on the blueline will be an interesting story to follow in the coming years for the Habs ... Guhle, Xhekaj, Kovacevic, Barron, Harris, Mailloux, Hutson, Trudeau, Reinbacher, Konyushkov, Engstrom ... they won't all be able to play for the Habs, so making the right decisions on who to move and when will be very important. Selling high on a few of these guys at the right time can potentially set the organisation up for a nice run ...

Goaltending still might be a Question Mark . Monty is a Good Goalie but I don't see him between the Pipes come Contending Time .Could a Good Young Defenceman bring back a Good Goalie from a Team heading to a Rebuild ?

not sure i'd go kickin that door just yet
kid seems to have some issues and has yet to establish an NHL calibre game and with his draft stock and pedigree I'm sure he'd not come cheaply

And I quote;
"Probably the most notable cut from Laval is that of Ty Smilanic, acquired from Florida in February as part of the deal that sent Ben Chiarot to the Panthers.
After playing in the NCAA for Quinnipiac University for two years, Smilanic transferred to the University of Wisconsin in the fall of 2022.
Slated to return to Wisconsin this fall for his fourth year in college hockey, he surprised many by appearing on Montreal's roster for their rookie camp and training camp last month.
According to reports, Smilanic had decided to leave the NCAA in the hopes of earning himself a professional contract.
His release from Laval's training camp now leaves him without a contract for the upcoming season.

I'm a but surprised they didn't sign him to an AHL deal and start him ECHL.
