The moose slowly got that period back into control and scored (twice) with a bunch of other great efforts. Like like night, don't let this opportunity slip. That Quebec hasn't been able to put us away is amazing.
Boucher played great until the finals, but he'd been quiet. Good to see him step up again with a huge goal. Doucet to me is the most surprising player of these playoffs - we knew he was good and could score in bunches, but he's REALLy stepped up his playmaking and grit through traffic. He's always in the mix.
No Biasca now too. Quebec know we are hurting, and never stop giving us crosschecks in the back whenever possible.

Seeing it on TSN again it looks like a bad call for no goal. I think the Q should address it after the game. If you are going to review every goal that is scored the refs should at least get to see the video.

Nicolas Dutil, a Q referee, sent a message to Stéphane Leroux to explain even if Truchon touched the puck he has to have control of it for the hand pass call to be waived. It was the right call.

Hand Pass Rule 79 A player shall be permitted to stop or “bat” a puck in the air with his open hand, or push it along the ice with his hand, and the play shall not be stopped unless, in the opinion of the on-ice officials, he has directed the puck to a teammate, or has allowed his team to gain an advantage, and subsequently possession and control of the puck is obtained by a player of the offending team, either directly or deflected off any player or official.
Doesn't even sound like it was defined as a hand pass as per the rule book.

What is an active QMJHL ref going to say? Publicly go against the league officials? And why is a ref reaching out to the media?

Hate to say it but when Dumais was shaking his hand at the ref I had a feeling that puck was going in at the other end.

Tons of opportunities for the Moose to win this that they couldn't capitalize on, so it wasn't the non-call only but - a slash across the wrists when you are circling the offensive zone the puck is a pretty easy penalty to call.

Full marks to the Remparts they did what they had to do to win. Mooseheads played 2 periods which has been a thing all playoffs.
The list of injuries for the Moose may be too much to overcome.

Ugh, Quebec have been the better team overall, but the Moose could have been leading the series 3-1 also. The Moose have put up quite a fight in this series, but came up JUST short at home. Good thing is, we have a history of great series comeback's against Roy.

Thumbs up to the Moose who never give up.
It was the Rousseau showdown everybody expected at the beginning of the series.

The playoffs are all about fine margins, and nothing went our way tonight. Missing our best forward throughout the playoffs, missing a top pairing D, losing our captain in the first, disallowed goal, missed call leading to a goal. Take nothing away from Quebec, but sometimes it's better to be lucky than be good.
Can't fault the effort, the boys are leaving it all out there. Stick with it an see what happens. Going to make it all the more sweeter if we can pull out three in a row.

On another note, it's shocking to me how Gaucher's role on this Remparts team has turned into being a goon. He's way too talented a player to be pulling the shenanigans he's pulling. Hilarious that Favreau sent Chisholm out to take an O-zone faceoff against him... probably would have been quite the tilt.

I wonder what obstacle the Mooseheads have with starting the game ready to play. On the post game show Stephen Davis said it has been a problem all regular season and playoffs this year and was an issue last year when he played on the team. Patrick Roy mentioned the PK came up big for them in the 3rd when they struggled the first 3 games. I thought the Moose could have been more aggressive but were trying to make that perfect pass again.
Have to give credit to the depth guys who filled in and created a few chances while the top guys rested. They didn't look out of place.
