Fiala signed for 7 years at a bit less than 8M AAV.

Lehner should be back as well, he had his wonky hip fixed in April I believe. He wont be back in vegas might cost them retention or a pick to move the contract(likely what they end up doing) if he is not on good terms with the team.

One interesting team in the next month will be Boston...78.5M committed to 15 players with Swayman and Frederic as RFA's and Bergeron Bertuzzi Foligno Hatheway Krejci Nosek Clifton & Orlov as UFA's.
Bergeron and Krejci must be letting them know their intentions soon as it impacts everything else.
In order to fill the hole at C they will likely need to move guys out, could be one of Swayman or Ulmark, Grelczyk is rumored on the block, Reilly who was buried could be moved with a pick, up front, only 7 guys are signed.
Doubtful they do a full rebuild, but I could see a reset as they are highly unlikely to be as good as this past year.

I wouldn’t have guessed that. I’m all seriousness though, I think the Bruins may be in trouble. The older guys have to hit a wall eventually (Krejci/Bergeron) and outside of Coyle, there’s nothing of note down the middle on the roster. It’s going to be hard to fill the holes with only 5 million in cap, even if Krejci/Bergeron come back for next to nothing. They’re probably looking at moving out pieces that contributed just to free up a little cap room to improve the roster.

At this point they would be better off with Krejci and Bergeron gone, or at least one of them. Pretty hard to win anything with your top 2 centers at 37 and 38 or whatever they are.

"Quick Matvei Michkov update: He arrives in the U.S. in the next day or so and will be in Nashville by early next week.
His agent Max Moliver has scheduled interviews with multiple clubs, looking to accommodate as many as possible, within reason of course (those teams with picks in Top 10 or so, for example)."

Hasn't the NHL draft traditionally on Friday night and Saturday? I just realized that it is Wednesday-Thursday next week ...

Hasn't the NHL draft traditionally on Friday night and Saturday? I just realized that it is Wednesday-Thursday next week ... It would normally be this coming weekend, they probably wanted to separate it from the NBA draft. Next Fri-Sat conflicts with the long weekend in Canada and UFA starts on Saturday so it would not work.

Andy Strickland @andystrickland · 1m NHL league call today confirmed salary cap for 23-24 to be set at $83.5 million #NHL
Going to be teams paying to dump contracts again in the coming weeks. Hopefully the Habs can add another 1st.

Hope the Habs don't outsmart themselves, BM said the top 5 is a consensus head and shoulders above 6+. Take the most skilled guy, 2nd and 3rd line guys are easier to find.

So Who do we think the Habs will select ? I see them picking at the #4 spot and taking Smith.

So Who do we think the Habs will select ? If they stay at 5 they are taking Michkov IMO. If you listen to the videos about last year's draft meetings and the way they spoke about Slafkovsky and Hutson, Michkov is a guy that bring something to the table that you can't just got get on the UFA market or usually in a trade. If you think Michkov can be a 90-100 point NHLer, you can't pass on him.
