Thought Halifax would do slightly more and was hoping CB would try to do what it sounds like Moncton did to bring back some of that experience for next year.

Ponzetto and Peitzsche in the lineup today for Shawinigan, too.
Ponzetto has been assigned #63 (kind of confirming that D'Astous has been put on waivers) and Larmand isn't in the lineup or been assigned a number, maybe he didn't want to report?
Speaking of, I wonder if the Mooseheads pick up a guy off waivers. We traded out 4 forwards and brought in 3, there's room on the roster for another F. Unless Welsh comes in full-time.
Honestly, D'Astous shoulda come up with the other Shawi boys we could have used him today lol.

Have the Mooseheads considered picking up extra 20 year old players from the WHL? The last two have come from the OHL. I think the last time the Mooseheads picked up any players from the WHL might have been the Carson brothers, who weren't 20 at the time.

You would think Larmand was fine with playing in Shawinigan or he wouldn't have been involved in the deal to begin with. You would also think Halifax was straight forward with Larmand when he moved here about his chances of being on the roster after January 6th, and what would occur should the Moose want to upgrade that slot for a championship run. Ty Austin's situation last year really hammered home the thought that teams should ensure players have a place to play if they are traded. At the very least for Larmand, as long as he can play Junior A or CIS somewhere, that's fine. I really hope they didn't miss eligibility deadlines, and I really hope Larmand doesn't end up out in the cold with no place to play after moving down here to help Halifax.

Are Halifax happy with cam or mad Here’s the thing with this question. Most fans had huge expectations. The easiest way to say this is most fans were looking for champagne when Cam only had a beer budget. Not saying he cheaped out just wasn’t in a position to pay the prices that were out there. Now that the dust is settled and we can look at what came in a little clearer I think he did a good job. For example if I told you going into the trade period the team will end up with a QM champ, another player who won the Mem Cup, and a new Euro who was a 20 goal scorer last year. If I heard just I’d be excited to see how the team plays. Oh I forgot to add they did all this with out giving up the 2025 and 2026 1st round picks too. I’m sure if a fortune teller said that before the trade window everyone would be thrilled. Now here’s the reality of the team. Yes those moves were made and the team looks better, but the injury bug is playing havoc with the roster. This team has 3 players who are all key point production players out for an unknown amount of time. One is the best player in the entire league. 2 others who were putting up PPG numbers. We add those 6 players we as fans can’t be Mad with Cam.

Given the last-minute nature of the deal, I wouldn't be surprised if Cam included him in the deal to basically give him the option of playing in Shawi. Maybe Larmand decided he didn't want to go? I can't know for sure. I'm sure Ethan can find a place to play Jr. A in Ontario, he'd be sought after.

It's waaaay late for this, but just think of how different the first half of the season and the trade deadline would have gone if Biasca came back. Can't help but compare to the Remparts last year, who really lucked out with Rochette returning.

Didn't look into this very closely, but wouldn't that mean Denis (more likely than Reynolds) AND Sprynar would be out of the current lineup? I understand Biasca being Euro/20 yr old would open another spot in the top 7-8 forwards but to add depth and impact it would likely be a 19 yr old that would have to be added. Lets say this was the case and the Mooseheads went and got Fauchon. What would that cost be and would it be worth what it might have cost?

The production and stability Biasca would have provided us on the second line would have been super useful - especially through the injuries and absences in December. Not a slight at Furlong in any way, but we'd have returned our captain and true leader. There would have been no Larmand experiment. The Reynolds deal probably still happens, but we'd have been able to use the assets spent for Denis/Sprynar on mid-tier non-OAs like Bourque, Arsenault or Reinhart to play on the third line.
