Peddle needs a change in my eyes, he is not living up to what was expected but the challange is how much would you give up for him when he is not producing on a good team. It would be good for Dumais and him to be together as they are both drafted to the blue jackets. Thats a move I like but its risky if you look at his current production. I like Horth as well but as a rental Im not giving up a lot for him to be honest. Hes getting a lot of playing time and that is adding to his production. Im not saying he isnt a good player and he would help the depth but Im not giving up the same as we did for Doucet or Lawrence last year. The thing is Drummondville is never trading Peddle to Halifax, regardless. Drummondville wants to compete in the playoffs, and the worst case scenario for them is if he succeeds in Halifax, he makes them look like complete fools and could potentially even cost them a playoff round. It's the same thing the other way around, Halifax doesn't want to give Drummondville assets that they can use to go bolster their team. The risks are too huge for either side to consider it. I agree thats why I dont think it happens. The only way something like this happens is if Peddle worked a out clause to play for them. They would have promissed the world to him to come. But you are right halifax and Drummondville would need to figure this out and its a hard an risky one to facilitate.

Here a we go:
Ethan Larmand a 20-year-old OHL free agent. Played for the Sudbury Wolves. This season he has only scored 3 goals and 1 assist in 14 games played. He is relatively small at 5 11 and plays centre. I expect to see him on the second line in-between McPhee and maybe Crosby/Kilfoil?
I have never seen him play or really heard of him before so I am happy to hear more informed opinions!
Edit: we will see him tonight against BC.

Welcome to Halifax Ethan, I wonder what line he slots in being a Centre.

All I can think is maybe we go all in next season with our draft picks with Rousseau and Vidicek as 20 unless they use a bunch of picks on an ‘04 during the trade period. Don’t know what to expect at this point.
But yeah pretty disappointing to see them cheap out. Hopefully we acquire an elite goal scorer or else a very underwhelming trade period.
I trust our Ontario scout and staff on this one, I hear he wins faceoffs which is good, maybe the transition from the OHL to QMJHL will help him. Only has a career high of 15 goals. Should be interesting.
Looks like he’s playing tonight. Wearing number #55.
Current look at a healthy roster?
Cataford | Vidicek | Dumais Levesque | Larmand | Crosby Peitzsche | Kilfoil | Fournier Ponzetto | Todd | MacPhee
I don’t think we’re done yet.

Most of the time an individuals performance is depended on the team around them. I don’t want to judge a book by its cover. Let’s see what he brings to the ice tonight!

From what I can tell and hope, he will bring grit, faceoff skill and leadership. You never know what offense he may provide in a new environment, maybe he will surprise. He obviously has some skill.

Love this. Zero risk, zero assets spent, and buys us time until the holidays. Important to get that spot filled with the Northern Quebec roadtrip coming up, and of course the World Junior period. An experienced Major Junior player is probably higher floor/lower ceiling than someone coming from Junior A. There's nothing that holds us to keeping him beyond the Christmas trade period. I'm sure if there's another upgrade that we can find over the holidays there's no emotional attachment to move him along. Hope he knows you're not allowed to fight in the Q anymore!! www.hockeyfights.com/players/n30855

The other way to look at this is that it's unlikely that any OA are available before Christmas, so this is essentially a free add until then (and the Mooseheads can re-evaluate then).

All this guy costs for the next 4-5 weeks is a plane ticket. People need to stop this "every move means we're all in or all out" over analyzing. The same team acquired a guy for like 20 games as a stop gap last year....for all any of you know this is just a later in the season stop gap. And they're not going all in after losing Dumais.

No brainer for the big market team to buy the plane ticket for the older player.

If this guy can win some face offs and play defensive hockey and grit it’s a win win win I am sure Cam and company have way more up there sleeve yet ! I see he wore a letter so no doubt he will bring character McPhee type who you can’t have enough of type player .

People seem to think its the Wild West in the OHL but you get suspended for 2 games after 3 fights in the OHL vs on your second fight in the Q. Essentially you get 2 more "freebies".
