This is the longest I can remember the Moose being ranked Number 1 in the CHL - 4 consecutive weeks. It's a really big game ahead for both teams, as the winner will likely be ranked Number 1 in the CHL next week, as well as being huge in the overall standings. The top four league scorers so far will also all be in action. It isn't do or die - but what a huge win it would be if the Moose could pull it out. With a recent pic of Logan Crosby on a Mooseheads' social media release - guessing he might be back for this game. Crosby last played on November 12th against Cape Breton. Lou Levesque was also injured in the same game. Thought it was a big enough game to open the thread a day early. Why would it be a huge win? They already beat the Drakkar in Baie-Comeau. I don't expect the outcome to be any different, other than the Moose will win in regulation I think.

Top 2 teams in the league. Both ranked high in the CHL rankings. 1 team has a 5 point lead with 2 games in hand. Halifax winning would mean there's a 3 point gap with 2 games in hand. Baie-Comeau winning would mean there's a 7 point gap with 2 games in hand. Why are you even questioning why a member of either fan base would consider tonight a huge game and therefore a huge win? I'm not a fan of either and I can easily see why both would view this as the current measuring stick to see how their team matches up against another elite team.

Your right not must win or anything but anytime you have two teams in the top 10 in the CHL they would be considered big games.

Funny how times have changed no talk on Emile Chouinard for taking out Crosby the last game and almost taking out another Moosehead player years past that would of been the big talk revenge on Chouinard for that big hit who is going to step up on the Moose ! Oh well I guess that’s the new Q we live in !

Considering Ciarlo has a 14-3-2 record I’m surprised he has a .881% he’s on the #1 team in the Q and is #25 in percentage and #20 in goals against average. Clearly an offensive effort.
Pretty sure Logan Crosby is back for an offensive boost, BC was the team that hurt him a month or so back.
It’ll have to be a Mathis Rousseau show in nets to keep the offence out.
Gill/Melovsky/Poirier vs Cataford/Vidicek/Dumais, going to be interesting!
It’s the depth pieces that worry me going into Thursday Night, the Boilard Bros have 22 goals, 55 points combined and are on the third line.
I’m going 4-2 Baie Comeau, one empty netter. Unless we get off to an early start!
You can do it boys, Go Moose Go.

I haven't resurrected my homegrown rankings this year because of promotion at work and just going flat out. I haven't closed the door on it maybe for 2nd part of season in some form.
My take us this on the rankings I think back to last year. Quebec was at top or within top 4 all year. It seemed they were vulnerable and some teams across the CHL looked better and likely better than les Remparts. I think Seattle and Kamloops, but even in the OHL one of their weaker teams peaked at playoff time knocking off really good teams.
If a team can hang in top 5 of these rankings from cover to cover people will make excuses why they look so good...but wait until they play "team X".
Last year as a Moosehead follower I was very proud about how the Remparts went in the front door to the Memorial Cup (took some hard upper cuts from Halifax but survived - only 2 Q playoff losses exceptional) and then just slayed the Memorial Cup tournament. They didn't just squeak by. They owned those teams. Stacked teams.
Moosehead fans never want to see Quebec win. But they were full marks and in process raised a huge star on this league in winning that way and certainly they are a reason Halifax is being ranked at top now with several core players back from the only team to truly go toe to toe with that exceptional Quebec champion team.
Post Christmas break we will see the rankings differentiate with the real contenders. Waiting on Saginaw to enter discussion. The last few years the hosts (including 2020 Kelowna before it was cancelled) seem to take their time coming together. Need to know the 6-10 teams that truly have a chance.

Can we play like we did in this first period for the rest of the season? Thank you. Not the most exciting of chances but maybe the best defensive most mistake free period we've seen this year. We're seeing better chances and the goals are following for the Moose in the 2nd but we're seeing some mistakes and breakdowns as well.
