Oh FFS put the phone down Sly. Wow imagine if Sly pulled the trigger if I remember anything from his bathurst years it's he loves to trade

See that’s odd cause I had heard rumblings today that the 20’a were not going to be adjusted but then with cloutier going to blainville sarrassin is expandable and most likely for cheap too. Which I think could attract him here
What do you think odds are we carry 4 20’s ?

Someone can correct me if I'm misremembering but your not allowed to do that as there's a cut off date that you have to be down to 3 20's by.

Which I think could attract him here What do you think odds are we carry 4 20’s ? Can't see that happening. Also can't see them in on Mianscum, it just doesn't make sense this year. I could see them adding a 20 forward like Horth or Roelens for a cheaper price than Mianscum would go for but that would force them to move Shortall. That's a risky move with the heavy lifting Shortall does, but if they really want to contend next season it might be best to move him and let some of the younger guys take on those heavy defensive minutes now to get them more prepared for a bigger role next season. Call it one small step back this season defensively for a larger step forward next year as Lavoie, Daigle, Desjardins whoever would have more experience against tougher competition from the second half of this season. But it doesn't make sense to pay the price for Mianscum and then go down that road on defense.

I think you’re right and would make sense - lot of rumblings here just not sure what to think and with time winding down it could be a max scramble here over the next few days
Most definitely I feel we need to add another top 6 guy who’s 18 or maybe a higher end 19

Cautiously optimistic, with Newcombe eventually returning and Cibulka in the fold there is definitely potential for this group to grow together and make a run next season.
I feel like continuity is going to be key going forward here, let the team gain chemistry and hopefully make the 2nd round this year, that'd be my goal.
Pray for big jumps from Lavoie, Squires, Houde, Ricard, etc and you're looking at a solid core for next season.
See where that SJ 1st lands, hopefully in the draft lottery - that's a big trading chip to bolster next years squad, or potentially they could just use the pick & try to build a perennial contender which is arguably more important than just winning next year.

Ricard was admittedly a head scratcher when drafted as high as he was, but he has really acclimated himself to Q hockey very quickly. Very solid contributions and hard work even in the bottom 6 I think made it easier to move on from Shields.

I've seen literally zero discussion of Mianscum being traded here.

Talk on the French board is that we’re one of the teams in on Mianscum. This would be a big mistake unless it’s for an absolute bargain. Of all the years though this is the one to do it. Drakkar are so far the runaway favorite for the CHL and they don't look that great at times. A very beatable favoured team in my opinion.
