I remember earlier in the year, there was some discussion around the Eagles hitting the 40 win mark this season, I believe Simon Irwin mentioned it as a goal for the Team. .500 in the first 3 months put them behind the 8 ball so to speak, but a recent push has them back in the conversation.
Not there yet, but sitting at 26 wins with 21 games remaining, Possible?
I am not sure that 82 pts will allow them to pass Moncton, but it should lock up home ice for round 1.

The key games to determine playoff seeding come down to 7 key road games in Quebec (Rim, Chi, BC) next weekend and in Halifax and Moncton x 3 over the last 3-4 weeks.
We shouldn't have a tough time with Bathurst, Charlottetown, or SJ who make up a bulk of the rest of that schedule.
But if you go 2-5 in those 7 you need to go 12-2 against the rest to get those 40 wins.
Does curling pushing us out and forcing 8 out of the last 11 on the road give Rimouski that edge to home ice?
I think the head to head game next week might determine it all.

Realistically I’d put it at 38 wins which is still honestly a huge accomplishment considering the slow start and heavy critisizm this team took. I also really do like our matchup against a Rimouski too if we can stay healthy. Louis is starting to pull a lot out of our guys and getting out of that first round is going to depend if we can buy in all the way through the lineup

Like last season, any passengers or players who don't want to be here and help this team win have been shown the door at the deadline.
The results before Christmas left alot to be desired, and even if they don't reach 40 wins I think they can parlay this second half momentum into home ice for the first round, and a tough out over 7 games for any team we may come up against in our division.
They just need to keep it rolling and not let the highs get too high, or the lows get too low.

Was just looking at the remaining schedule since two of the games were rescheduled due to the storm and jeez the poor guys are gonna have a hell of a time from February.9th to March.9th, they'll play 15 games in a 30 day stretch before they finally have a break longer than two days.

I know it had to happen, and am not complaining, but that's a huge game in the hunt for home ice and instead of it being mid week now it is the third game in a three in three stretch on the road in Quebec.

Something to note too, Moncton is losing again tonight. This will put us 6 back with the same games played.

I don't mind that the Rim game was moved. They play FRI-SAT vs a hot Gatineau team that now has Mr. Beausoleil behind the bench. Mr. B will have his troops fired up vs his old team. It will be a quick turnaround to get set for Moncton at home Wed, although they have travel of their own to deal with. Friday night we will see a well rested Halifax team at C200. This is a true character stretch for the Eagles.

..........and would you believe that the Long Term Weather Forecast has us being hit with another Blast Tuesday into Wednesday . I so hope that this changes , not because of the Q Game but some people unfortunately may not be cleaned up from this one and / or have no more room on their properties to put anymore snow .

Catching Moncton is becoming more of a possibility, have to win all of our head-to-heads against them and stay hot.

Catching Moncton is doable, but it won't be easy. Let's look at it again on Feb 20th, the picture may be clearer then!!

Season coming to a close. With Chicoutimi hot they have pulled ahead in standing though Eagles have 2 in hand seem to be spiraling a little but sorta expected that.
Is this maybe better? Would they be better off facing Moncton than Rimouski in an opening round series? I think once they get some momentum they might do well through a couple rounds. Eagles match up well with Halifax too but to get them probably need to pull up into the 4 or 5 spot....
In what turn of events do they have a shot at that and getting a shot to upset Halifax.

Now down to 11 games left, the Standings are tight. CHI has a difficult schedule the rest of the way, 7 of 11 are vs opponents higher in the standings. RIM has the lightest schedule of the 3 teams, with the next 5 games at home.
The Eagles need to right the ship and fast. 2 wins in the next 3 would set up the final homestand really well, where 3 wins are up for grabs.
Still 2 games in hand on RIM, 2 pts behind. RIM would own the tie breaker on the Eagles, so I guess you could say we are 3 pts behind.
What team do we see tomorrow vs Halifax.
