I wouldn't make that deal . If that ends up right near the Top , it would be more valuable than that . Honestly if the plan is to move the SJ 1st for impact help for 24-25 a deal with Halifax should already be made. They have the proven veteran assets we need. We have the younger assets to start their rebuild at a perfect time. Can't afford to allow Moncton, Rimouski, or Chicoutimi to beat us to those proven players. Dont Forget Ethan Gauthier 😉

Gauthier, if he is even in the mix to be traded will be expensive, I can see both he and Cataford in 3x1 range.

Does anyone know the tiebreaker rules for playoff seeding? Eagles in a three way tie right now and it looks like that puts them 5th, but I can't seem to find an actual rule for tiebreakers on the Q website (which doesn't surprise me). The standings on the Q site are in order of tiebreaker. ROW is the first, Regulation + overtime wins, shootout wins carry no weight and the 2nd tie-breaker is goal differential. 3 teams with 32 ROW, Eagles sit 2nd in goal diff , 3 behind CHI cross every finger that the Eagles move up to 5th ahead of either Chicoutimi/Rimouski. I believe Eagles will win round 1 against any of Moncton, Sags, Oceanic - they should be right there....but 2nd round vs Baie Comeau? Probably not. However, they have played well vs Halifax and that upset might happen. It's not just CB playing good vs them but Halifax plays a way that gives opportunities to teams like CB. That would be a good outcome setting up for offseason and challenging in 2024-25 with team growth.

Personally I'm not worrying about whatever position the Eagles finish and whoever they'll face in the first round cause no matter if it's Moncton, Chicoutimi or Rimouski it'll be a tough series.

I think Moncton would create the most interest in the sense of a Maritime Rival creating a Buzz thus maybe helping the crowds .

Potentially the best case scenario crowd wise could be for the Eagles to finish with home ice since I imagine the first two home games would be during Easter weekend maybe leading to larger crowds those first two games.

Eagles won 8-6 today in Bathurst to push their winning streak to 6 games, gotta wonder the status of Lucas Romeo for tomorrow's game as he left the game after taking a slash from Colby Huggan and didn't return.

Not sure that isn’t a major penalty. If you watch the play, frame to frame, he literally brings the stick from over his shoulder across Romeo’s ankle. Terrible call on the ice and a significant loss. Don’t think it is anything serious at this point.

With 10 seconds left and everything they let go throughout the game, Hopkins ruined Ruccia’s record. Biggar was beside him upset afterwards. Left then came back to apologize to Ruccia

Team is definitely rolling , to get home ice is definitely key for 1st round with games 1 and 2 likely on Friday and Saturday nights on Easter weekend, bd nice to get 4000 in there with a white out

I made the three games this weekend (including Moncton Thursday) and all seemed like very good momentum builders for the playoffs. Saturday in Bathurst had that feel, back and forth and very chippy. Patterson has flying In all three games and looked very good. Glad to see that nearing playoffs. I’m really liking Shortall on forward, physical and the way he reads the plays of what the opposing defenders are going to do is awesome. Anyone hear any updates on Lucas Romeo? It didn’t look good when he went off the ice after the slash

It didn’t look good when he went off the ice after the slash With 3 wins this past weekend, the Eagles have increased their odds of opening up the playoffs on home ice. They control their own destiny over RIM and will need one loss from CHI in their last 3 games to have the same control. If CHI runs the table as does Cape, it will come down to the 2nd tiebreaker, which is also tied at the moment. What does our roster look like for the opening night of playoffs? Ruccia? Shortall on F or D? Line combos?

Most markets see no bump from regular season for round 1. Which makes sense when you consider not all season ticket holders buy playoff ticket packages and round 1 historically has very little drama unless you're in those 4v5 or 3v6 series and even then the drama isn't until games 6/7. 2340 was the teams average over 34 games. Getting anything beyond 2400-2800 people per game for opening playoff weekend would be viewed as a huge success. Simply meeting that average should be the minimal goal.
