I made the three games this weekend (including Moncton Thursday) and all seemed like very good momentum builders for the playoffs. Saturday in Bathurst had that feel, back and forth and very chippy. Patterson has flying In all three games and looked very good. Glad to see that nearing playoffs. I’m really liking Shortall on forward, physical and the way he reads the plays of what the opposing defenders are going to do is awesome. Anyone hear any updates on Lucas Romeo? It didn’t look good when he went off the ice after the slash With 3 wins this past weekend, the Eagles have increased their odds of opening up the playoffs on home ice. They control their own destiny over RIM and will need one loss from CHI in their last 3 games to have the same control. If CHI runs the table as does Cape, it will come down to the 2nd tiebreaker, which is also tied at the moment. What does our roster look like for the opening night of playoffs?
Ruccia?
Shortall on F or D?
Line combos?
Healthy lineup permitting these would be the lines I'd go with for Game 1.
Squires - MacDonald - Newcombe Aucoin - Burbidge - Houde Romeo - Roy - Lavallée Ricard - Patterson - Fullerton
Cibulka - Lavoie Biggar - Schmitt Daigle - Shortall
Ruccia

A bit of controversy on their tying goal in the final minute but Moncton beat Saint John tonight in a shootout, for all intents and purposes Moncton will finish 3rd in the Conference as it would take Moncton losing out in regulation and the Eagles winning their two in Charlottetown in regulation or OT to jump Moncton in the standings.

The Eagles already miniscule chance at passing Moncton for 3rd in the Conference just got even smaller as forwards Dawson Sharkey (1 game) and Bobby Orr (2 game) of the Titan have been suspended heading into their games against Moncton.

Multiple things not going the Eagles way so far tonight, Moncton up 3-1 in the 2nd against Bathurst, Saint John up 4-0 in the 2nd against Halifax and the Eagles down 2-1 heading into the 2nd against Charlottetown.

Eagles win 4-3 Out of Town Scoreboard Moncton Lose 7-4 Saint John wins 5-2 Québec leads 2-1 3rd 20:00 Chicoutimi lead 3-2 2nd 3:33 Eagles will play either Chicoutimi or Rimouski now. Can’t finish any lower than 5th. If Quebec wins then Rimouski is locked in to 6th if the sags win so 1 point tomorrow clinches home ice since they have more ROW than the sags. A non shootout win and a Moncton loss and they will finish 3rd since they’d have the ROW.

I think.... maybe... by my calculations, unless the Eagles lose by a lot in regulation and Rimouski wins by a lot in regulation to make up a goal differential of 12 then the Eagles have home ice in round one? Also, if the Eagles win by 20 in regulation and the Wildcats lose in regulation, the Eagles would move up to 3rd

You are right about the 3rd seed! I missed that. A regulation win by the Eagles and a regulation loss by the Wildcats moves the Eagles to 3rd (and avoid BC for two rounds). Rimouski is now 2 points back and have one less ROW which means if Rimouski wins in regulation and Eagles lose in regulation it moves to goal differential but the Eagles are well ahead in that category (+21 to +10). If Eagles lose by 6 and Rimouski win by 5 they are tied in that category as well.

Moncton up 4-2 now heading into the 3rd.
Eagles haven't been able to solve Bickle since that first goal trailing now 2-1 heading into the 3rd as well
Saint John leading 3-2 against Halifax as well for those wondering.

4th Seed it is as Moncton wins 7-5 against Bathurst but the Eagles win 3-2 in OT against Charlottetown and finish the regular season on a 9 game winning streak.
