Agree that Molotkov was decent in tonight's game.
I like stevens in tonights game, one goal and took a fight at the end (altough he lost it, it still means something that he was willing. Biduke had one can't remember the other players name but I would have liked to see it unfold. The other player wanted nothing of it once he saw Biduke was serious.

It was Lip Balm...I mean Linden Bahm. Halifax had a few 19 year olds that belong in Jr.A...Chisholm Bahm and Louis 16, Pender for a 20 is also pretty weak.

I thought Molotkov had a good game with Brannon & Sill. I think he'll stay with the Cats although I think you'll see MacAusland play on that line in Regular Season. I think you'll see MacAusland with Brown and Lessard, I have a hunch that's why they were not dressed. There are numerous possibilities for Sill-Brannon...Petterson, Roski, Moltkov etc

When did you see Lane throw a big hit? ?? I agree he doesn't know how to throw a check and his balance is horrible.

From what I saw last night, Molotkow can hit, and can be an intimidating presence on the ice. Lane can not ... and really isn't much of an intimidating presence - he is not going to go around beating up non-fighters, and so for any team that doesn't carry a goon, he is not intimidating whatsoever - for teams that do carry goons, I doubt the aforementioned goon is losing any sleep at this point at the thought of having to deal with Lane.

It's all fine that there are a lot of guys taht can throw big hits, but you still need an enforcer against 8 or 9 teams in the league. No one knows if Motlokov is one because he has not dropped the gloves and played MAAA last year. Lane is a proven enforcer(just check Youtube) and will bring a presence. I don't think Flynn wants guys like Sill and Brannon to have to take on the top guys in the Q.
In terms of skills and skating people seem to be pretty harsh on Lane, yes he is not Eagles or Sill out there in terms of skating or being balanced and strong on skates but he is further ahead than Spencer was 3 years ago. I heard he is in the same situation, where his conditionning was not up to par because he had no access to ice time this summer. He seems to know where he is going on the ice and his straight ahead speed is actually good for a 6'7" guy.
All that being said, unless you know for sure you have a guy taht can do that role it would bwe dumb to cut him, then later have to trade or audition FA's for that role. If he goes on waivers he would surely get picked up, maybe by Halifax or PEI.

I agree with everything you said Carey. I didn't know he couldn't get on the ice over the summer. I know he was supposed to go to a 2 week Power Skating school, so that would probably help him, along with getting ice time and training to get him into better shape.

Do you know the maximum number of players they can carry? Might make sense if there is room to keep both until you can see both a little more.

I'm pretty sure Devon will be playing with Sill & Brannon during regular season. I sure hope your right about that, it would make perfect sense to me. I'm not saying it would work but it would be nice if it did. Two larger talented guys with a smaller play maker. As far as Motlokov vs Lane. I like that Lane is unquestionably a contender, he's not someone you mind sitting when not needed, has some sort of unexplainable ability to bury if feed in front of the net, would not bother me (now) if we only use him one year as next year we will be deeeeeep with talent. I like that Motlokov is a better player, should be able to fight well enough, is probably less inclined to take a bad penalty from being awkward. At the end of the day we need an enforcer not a hockey player as every other wildcat should be better at that. So which one we get is not a big concern to me as long as SJ gets the message during the games.
