If the Cats decided to go all out for it this season (Which I seriously doubt) I would love to see them put a blockbuster together with Saint John for Grant and Dido. Unfortunately all the talk would HAVE to include Gormley and I don't think that is a good plan. Is there anything that we have that may be able to put this in place? Moncton is already going all out this year, they have only lost 2 games in regulation in 10 weeks. I'm sure Moncton the Cats could get Grant and Dido without trading Gormley, guys like O'brien Down Daoust Bissonnette would be wanted by SJ. I just don't see them making that big a trade. I understand as of right now we are a contender with our strong defensive play and contributions from all 4 lines but the Que, Shaw and Rimouski's will be a lot different after Christmas. Rio will help us tremendously and we all know how far goaltending can take us. We willl have to wait and see what the Telus division teams do. Not to mention if Saint John decides to buy or sell.

Everybody said the same thing with Lewiston in 06-07 when VD and CB loaded up...and last year when RN and Halifax made big trades and Gatineau still won. I'd like to see a top 3 offensive d-man and 90 point center, but the price has to be reasonable. I would not touch BC's 1st, Bissonnette, Gormley and LBD...if we are talking about a 4 month player.

I voted Macenauer as I think he'd be a great fit for most any team trying to contend, and other. People keep saying Petit would be the best bet for a 20 year old forward, but I think Joly would be even better for you guys, thus the "other" vote. Of course Bathurst would likely gouge you for him, but I do think he'd be a great fit on your team, which is what the poll asks for.
Or how about Jeff Desjardins from RN instead of Macenauer? Not NHL drafted so perhaps a better chance he comes back next year too. He'd also be a great acquisition for any contender.

i'd like to see Gratchev in a Wildcats uniform. Lewiston is struggling to even hold down a playoff spot, and they're not in our division anymore, so we shouldn't hafta sell the farm to get him.

I saw his name mentioned on Radoter but I think Quesnel in Gat could be an interesting option. I figure his cost wouldn't be too extravagant.

Because it's his first big year and he is not the player that teams would fight over at this time.

The thing is though, how much of an upgrade is he on Lessard and Brannon? he would certainly be a solid addition to any team, but don't expect hull to trade him, actually since the coaching change and the addition of 4 free agents from ontario combined with the subtraction of penalty machine lamontagne the team has done quite well, if they do trade down it will only be if they get big return and will likely only be a player or 2, they never trade too much so that they would risk missing the playoffs.

You have one player in the top 25 or so and your next player is about 50th in points..You need more than a couple of player to be a contender,IMO..
