It carried Lewiston further than Val D'or and Cape Breton 2 years ago when they made those big trades. I see your point but Lewiston had a game breaker in David Perron- who is your Perron??? Eagles is as good as Perron was, they have almost the exact same stats. Bernier was actually their "game breaker", Rio is ours. They also did not have a dominant line, they had 3 lines of scoring much like the Cats do.

Following your mindset, Eagles should now be drafted, have signed a pro contract and play NHL next season....good luck to him to accomplish all that! Coming back to Earth, talk about rose-coloured glasses on your part.....

Coming back to Earth, talk about rose-coloured glasses on your part..... What does the draft and NHL next year have to do with how Eagles is producing NOW? He asked who we had that compares to Perron, well Eagles has almost the exact same numbers on a similar defense-first team. What Perron did at 19 has no impact on what he produced at 18. I'd argue that Eagles is a better junior player this year than Perron was at 18 because of the leadership he brings, the experience he has playing on a Presidents Cup winner and the fact he is a great penality killer on top of being the best offensive player on the team. Peter-James Corsi jumped to the ECHL at 20, does that mean he was better than Beauregard?

Comparing ECHL and NHL is nuts.
Perron was the game breaker you don't have.
Don't worry!
Flynn knows all about it.

The fact that P.Bergeron made the NHL at 18 doesn't mean he was the best 16 and 17 year old in the Q at those ages. Guys like Bernier were much better players at 16 and 17. What Perron did at 19 or 20 has no impact on what he was at 18. Eagles makes as much if not more of an impact than Perron did at 18, the numbers back it up. Plus Perron was not captain of his team and did not contribute to a great PK like Eagles does.

One of the big differences is that Lewiston had some offensive help from the back end. Chad Denny. Who does Moncton have?

Eagles is a nice OA to have, but he is NOT a gamebreaker. Heck! Both Jezegou and Joly scored more goals than him so far.

Eagles is good, but he isn't a gamebreaker IMO ... we lack one up front. I find our offense can disappear at times, which IMO will be our undoing at some point in the playoffs if we don't add a piece or two (Voynov plus a high impact forward would be great). There are many nights we struggle to score even against weak opponents like Halifax, PEI and Bathurst. Then again, take a look at the team Flynn went to the Mem Cup with Nolan with in 1991 in the Soo ... not exactly an offensive juggernaut ... 5th in the league in scoring and tops in goals against ... irnoically enough they were also tied for second last in the league the year before ... www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0008191991.html

You completely missed my point on Beauregard.
