Miromanov got his first NHL goal tonight. Quite a unique path his career took him. Always loved watching him play. Right? play forward your entire jr. career and pop up in the NHL 4-5 years later as a defenseman? And it's not like he was ever considered a serious NHL prospect. Amazing to see him getting NHL games in. |

he didn't just get his 1st goal last night either, he got 2 assists as well! Hopefully he can stick with the big club. Happy for him. From Q free agent as a forward to NHL D is impressive lol.

Pelletier will join the Flames on a 5 game road trip through Chicago, St. Louis x 2, Dallas and Nashville. One game left in the trip and he's been a healthy scratch all 4 games. Really bizarre treatment to call a guy up just to sit him the whole trip. Is calgary usually this weird about their prospects? He's been producing in the AHL for 2 straight seasons, you'd think they could put him in for 1-2 games if they are going to bother to call him up. |

My sense from what I have read is that there is a bit of an internal power struggle ... Darryl Sutter doesn't want to play the young guys, especially smaller skilled types. Pelts may have to wait until the Flames move on from Sutter before he gets a fair shot. |
