Jan Kana: This 17yr old kid is awesome. What a pickup in the Euro draft. Hard worker, LOVES the corners, LOVES to throw the big hits, and as Goyens seen tonight he is able to stick up for himself. Went off bloodied. Also, kid's skilled. It wasnt' Goyens, it was Bona. And Bona went off bloodied, cause Kana punched him with his glove on. Sorry, i knew it was Bona, i just types Goyens for some odd reason.... Bona got schooled by our Euro.......

pretty excited about kana and main. also nice to see Halifax's chubby bunnies make an appearance. I swear if i hear another preteen trapped in a 30 y/o's body give a hockey player a stupid nickname, I'm gonna start throwing blind elbows until I hear crying.

Bona got schooled by our Euro....... Bona took two gloved punches as he tried to shove Kana out of the crease area. Once he dropped the gloves and grabbed him, he knocked him on the head a few times and Kana held on. Kana had an icepack on his head in the box.

I am really liking Kana, this kid is one fiesty little euro...can take care of himself just fine. He did have a nice bump on his head after the fight was over.. Bona was smart, playing while he was supposed to be serving his penalty....I am glad he didnt get away with it.
Game was ok, kinda boring....wasn't as exciting as the pre-season one between both teams but was great to get the regular season underway

the refing in this game absolutley killed us. we had so many good chances but the refs have us 4 on 5 almost the entire night. it was pathetic.

I think you will see a coaching change on P.E.I. before this season ends, team was not well prepared tonight in a game they should have showed up for. Their play was disorganized and weak.

I didnt see much in th way of bad reffing tonight... was it what he let go? Pretty much all penalties I saw either way were pretty blatant calls that had to be made... which ones were terrible?

I was talking to someone before the game about this very subject. If I'm not mistake, this is the last season in Jeans contract........ Most feel, and I agree that this Rocket team should be able to make a solid run this season.................SHOULD. If this team is struggling, and not heading the right direction I would not be shocked to see Jean go. and you're right......the team looked a little disorganized tonight.........hopefully a better team game come Sunday!

Kana and Main were clearly the most effective Rocket tonight. Kana did it all....love the kid. Walker and Morrison only played a few decent spurts. Doyle was just fair.....after that things really went downhill as far our forwards go. Was not impressed with LaChaine, Cliche, Schmidt and Locke at all. I thought Desroches did ok and so did Paynter. Wright never got a shift.
Lessard and Gerv were the best D tonight but the D was weak overall. Swit has his best game so far...but still was average. Deighan took a couple of stupid penalties and then got hurt, and overal cost the team with the bad penalties. Malouin was the same as always. Southorn did not have his best game.
Laff was not himself, but I am sure he will bounce back.

Laff was not himself, but I am sure he will bounce back. I understand wanting to start the #1 opening night.........but the kid could be a bit tired IMO. Training camp the past couple weeks.....or whatever, and just left the camp at 5 p.m. yesterday. Perhaps we'll see Gelinas on Sunday?

He was prob thrown off by the pace too. I am sure the shots were a lot slower than in Traverse City and his timing might have been screwed up

Well I guess u could say it was the calls that werent made there was Hits after the Whistle and Morrison got Run at a couple times where a penalty might have came from I just think the Ref was sorta favouring the Moose after the 1st ;p

I am not sure which 3 goals Lafleur should have had. The first was a breakaway after the defense allowed him to get behind them, the second the Rocket defenseman let his man go and allowed him to be open to bang the puck in and the 3rd goal he was simply beat by a good shot that could have beaten any goaltender.
I the defense played badly, as I said before the 1st two goals were their fault as they either let the forward get behind them and they didn't take the mn in front of the net.
I thought the team played well in the first period but came out flat in the 2nd and 3rd. The Rocket played like a beaten team after the 3rd Halifax goal. If they want to be contenders they are going to have to play a full 60 minutes and not just 20 mins like they did tonight. The team has to be better prepared so that they can make adjustments during the game according to the situation.
I thought Kana played well, he doesn't take shit off anyone and backs it up also. Main played great on the PK ad I like having him and Paynter on the same line.
The loss wasn't because of the refereeing but I thought it was bad tonight. A couple of calls I thought were questionable that made you wonder what game they were watching. Morrison earned his penalty in the third period after he took the legs out from the opposing player, but the ref calling it hold even though Morrison had boths his hands on his stick made me wonder if these guys inhaled too much of the smoke from the pre-game ceremony.

I don't think Laff played badly.....I just know he would not be pleased with the goals he let in. Hes the type of goalie who stops the unstoppable when hes on, and I really think he might have been mentally tired and will need a couple of games to readjust to the Q game. Its quite common actually. I recall often guys that go play for team Canada at the U-20's and need a few games to re-adjust. Certainly not something I am worried about

I hope Deighan is ok. Word is he has a concussion, though not sure how serious.
Speaking of which, I wish the CCC would put in NHL glass that has that little bit of give to it. when your head hits the glass they have now...its like hitting a brick wall
