I was sitting right there looking at both Main and Gallant as Main carried the puck around the back of our net, all the while as Southorn added support in front of Lafleaur. Gallant was giving Main a few love taps just to let him know he was there, however, on about the fourth tap, which would have been waist high if Main was standing straight up, Main dipped to cut behind the net, Gallant was committed and his stick stuck Main on the helmet, was it intentional - no, he was a player with a reputation letting another player know he was there. What happened main went down, you could see on Southorn's face he didn't want to go up against Gallant, shit he is a talented 17 year old, one of the to two D on this team, but Southorn is Southorn and I respect him for that, he went to the aid of his teammate knowing damn well he was going to get hit, the linesman must have known this to because he didn't even give them a chance to go, he was in so quick, the same could be said for Main. This was nothing more then a single incident that would have happened with any players involved, the fact that it was Gallant served him no pass by the refs, plus the idiodic show and dance he put on. As for Southorn, watch this kid, so calm, he will be a great one, however, even though he will look out for himself and his teammates he is not a fighter and this team does need someone who can settle these things before your top prospect has to. Good play by play nice to get someones input who was nice and close. I cheered for Gallant when he was doing his thing but to be honest I think if he was a Rocket player he wouldn't be called an idiot and would have had alot of cheers in the crowd more then 35 anyway

BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, September 18, 2007 – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League disciplinary committee today imposed an additional one-game suspension to Saint John Sea Dogs winger Brett Gallant. The suspension follows an incident that occurred during last Sunday’s game against the PEI Rocket. During the contest, Gallant was caught hitting an opponent with his stick.

Well obviously it was a bad enough shot to warrent the extra game, good job league! One game would be minnium for a match. If anything that would tell you that it was not very much after it was reviewed by video. Time to put this to rest. All Gallant did was show us our need for a enforcer.

Brett's game is going out running around Smoking people. I very rarely see him actually trying to play the game Seriously I have nothing wrong with his game or anything like that i mean hes out there for one thing and one thing only and that is to take out other players or hit them right through the boards. Thats all i seen him do so far this year and last. I guess u can call him a crash line or something like that or But to me thats all his game is and ever will be.

You are right, one game is automatic, but he got the extra game so in total he got 2. All this shows is that he is a goon that will never amount to a hockey player worth paying to watch.

Ottawa Senators liked what Brett can offer when he was in their rookie camp. He wasn't there to score goals

Don't worry so much about the contract offer how many guys in the league don't even get an invite to an NHL camp?
I'd say he's making the most of his time in the Q love him or hate makes no difference he's doing things that are getting NHL teams to take notice not to shabby boyz! ;D

Was that meant as an insult not sure I don't really follow CHSB much but feel free to elaborate? Just stating the facts man the Sens invite the guy to their camp so he obviously does his job well enough to garner their attention.

As i said on the SJ board........it's great to support your teams players, but at times, fans need to take off the blinders....... What Gallant did was stupid, dangerous and uncalled for. Ref felt that way, the league felt that way, fans felt that way.....all but some SJ fans and a couple Islanders that are close to the Gallant family felt that way.... Hmmmm

Hmmmm I've been talking about him making it to the Ottawa rookie NHL camp and the fact that people are saying he's acting like an idiot and personally I think if that was a Rocket player people would not be so willing to say he acted like an idiot. I also noticed that a Rocket fan said that he tapped him a couple times and then as the Rocket player turned his head was alittle lower then it was before and the stick hit him in the head. Gallant is responsible for his stick and he did highstick Main no doubt about it and kudos to Southorn for sticking up for his team mate.
