b) why I continue to go watch a good team, with no real system in place, struggle night after night. ... but there is something I can do ... I'm seriously considering taking my tickets for Fridays game, walking up to Savard, and ripping them in half in front of him. Enough is enough! Agreed, Enough is enough. I read this this morning and admit I have been thinking the same thing and trying to convince myself that I should go to the CCC Friday night and that I really would not be wasting my Friday night. So far I've only been able to come up with two reasons to go: 1- To see the Rempart (nothing to do with the Rocket) 2- Have a beer with some friends and tell lies during the intermission ( nothing to do with the Rocket and can happen in any bar vs the CCC) As far as protest the only brain wave I had was to just not show up - not very creative and really does not send a message. Does anyone have any good reasons to go to the game or better protest ideas?

I had thought about not going to the game on Friday night or if its a blowout against us then leaving early until someone reminded me that we only see the Quebec teams once a year in the regular season.
Now....i am not so much of a creative person but maybe signs throughout the rink held up that say FIRE JEAN....or something about Serge might be a good idea.....they'd get noticed for sure, maybe wearing paper bags on our heads.....or someone....(not sure conehead would do this or not) starting a FIRE JEAN chant throught the rink as he is taking his place on the bench.....
Another idea I had this morning was taking these posts and sending the comments into the Guardian...or writing a letter as a fan and expressing my and our frustrations as fans and seeing if it would get published. The posts about what is going on are well written and speak the truth...printing them out and sending copies from different individuals to either the newspaper or to the Rocket office or even to both might be interesting.
I am not sure the not showing up would have as much as an effect since a lot on here already have paid for their tickets so it does not affect the Rocket bottom line....it might affect the boys tho and if they are going through rough times because of the coaching them maybe up being there to cheer them on is more important then we think.
Its Yannick Jean that many of us have a problem with and his non ability to coach this team and get the results we are pretty sure are possible...and maybe the boys dont' want him as coach and aren't working for him, i think that is pretty obvious, and its Serge that needs to show us that he has a plan...lip service is worth nothing.....
My reasons to go to the game are to see the Remparts, to visit with friends, to see Patrick Roy and to hope for a decent game....and if at all possible to express my frustration, which i have done in the past and am not afraid to do again....

For those of us lucky enough to have a Remparts Jersey I would highly recomend doing just that.....or going with your Rocket jersey on....and then...when Serge is in his box as we know he always is....take it off and replace it with the Rempts jersey..... ;D

I'll be going....I already had my one walkout this season, so I'm going and maybe I'll see a good game. No paper bags for me....not my style. Someone else wants to start the "Fire Jean" chant fine with me....it won't start with me. I'm there to cheer on the boys and try to keep the crowd going...simple as that.

I feel that the guy's need us to show up for them more now than ever. There is a lot of presure on everyone from management down to perform on Friday. We will get better results from the guys if we not only show up but make some noise for them to spur them on for a full 60 minutes. The Rocket should give free tickets to the first 50 people that want to sit together in one or two groups and make it their job to cheer the boys on for 3 periods. It's not like the seats are being used.

We're not even three weeks into a 6-month season. I can understand the frustration, and it's borne out in the comments and the lousy attendance at games, so there's no need for additional forms of protest. Given that there are only two games for the Rocket over the next 9 days, it's highly likely the Rocket will still be in last place when they set off on their Québec road trip on October 12th.....but things will pick up after that, with 4 games at The Morgue starting October 17th...only two weeks from today. I'll be there Friday with my Rocket jersey and tuque. I expect a win, too.....a Rocket win, that is.

Let the 'FIRE THE COACH' chants reign down from the stands.. maybe a yell or scream during the quiet times in the morque as well..

I certainly can understand why Reggie would not start a Fire Jean chant.. nor do I think such a chant would do anything positive, but sending some letters to the editor and the office might be a very good idea
I do disagree strongly with the notion that because it's only 7 games into a long season we should be patient and optimistic... clearly those who are still regularly attending the games have been quite patient for quite some time... it's time for Serge, Yannick, and the boys to reward that patience
junior hockey is a cyclical business.... but no team should remain at the bottom end of that cycle for 4 years and have it's fans not show displeasure

We had the same problem in our first year with Larue. Were now seeing results with JB as our coach and GM. Hang in there Rocket fans, I wouldn't give up just yet. If your top players start to gel and play as a team, you guys will see results.

Personally I don't think not showing up is a good thing, the players feel it more than anyone. Right now I think they need all the suport they can get, get out there and make lots of noise for the boys!!!!

When I left the rink I couldn't imagine going to Summerside for game two. By 4:00 the next day I mellowed and went to Game two in Summerside. As for being optimistic I was overly optimistic about the caliber of this team based on the roster and with the exception of a couple gaps they are a great team on paper. The on ice performance has done nothing to convince me I should be optimistic. Even the win against Lewiston although nice did not do anything to bolster my confidence in the team or give me reason to suspect they will play exciting hockey. As I see it from the posts there are two more reasons to go: 3. supporting the Players; and 4. this is the only home game in about a one month stretch (Sep 19 - Oct 16) On the protest side I like the Idea of a Remparts jersey but don't have one, maybe I'll just wear black or put the Rocket Jersey on inside out.

Two words: Paper bags.
05-06 Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in first nine games of the season: 2-7.
05-06 Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in the next nine games of the season: 9-0.
What happened in Game #10?
Three wise fans showed up at C200 wearing paper bags over their heads. The Eagles, inspired at seeing their diehards refuse to settle for shitty results, responded with the longest winning streak in team history.
The move was so inspirational that it even made head coach and GM Pascal Vincent's season-ending speech at the team awards banquet in April of that year. True story.
;D ;D

I wore a paper bag to a game in our first year with a rather sarcastic "Larue Fan Club" sign. He got fired. All future Sea Dog success is to my credit as much as anyone! Muhahaha! ;D
