Patrick Roy’s Québec Remparts will be at the CCC tomorrow night in their 1st and only regular season visit this season.
The Remps are in Moncton tonight, while the Rocket have been off since last Friday.
Some Rempart players to keep an eye on are: Kelsey Tessier Angelo Esposito Mikhail Stefanovich Félix Petit Maxime Lacroix Maxime Sauvé and former PEI Rocket Pierre Bergeron.
This game is a huge one for the Rocket......as they take on the powerful Halifax Mooseheads Saturday night in Hali.
Even though this season is only 7 games in for this Rocket team, this game is a must win IMO.

I am looking forward to seeing Esposito play without him having the same kind scrutiny he faced in the 2 years leading up to being drafted. Time will tell if he was an over-rated prospect, but I think having some of that pre-draft pressure taken off of him will help his game.

If we could only string together a couple of big wins to get us back on track.

If we could only string together a couple of big wins to get us back on track. I'm of the opinion that the more we lose, the better. Let's rack up the losses and that'll be more fuel for the firing of Yannick.

P.E.I. Rocket skates into key game at home Coach Jean says tonight's contest against the Remparts will be a good time for his team to turn its season around The Guardian
P.E.I. Rocket head coach Yanick Jean counts two reasons why tonight’s Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game against the Quebec Remparts is paramount to his 2-5 team.
First, the Rocket plays its first home game (7 p.m., Civic Centre) in almost two weeks.
Second, Jean wants the Rocket to atone for an early- season losing record on its home ice.
“This is our only game in a nine-game span that we play at home, so it’s a very important game for us,” Jean told The Guardian on Thursay. “And everybody knows we’re 1-2 at home. We’re not happy about the first two games of the year.
“They all know, we all know, that we did not give the performance that we are able to as a team.”
Tonight’s game is the lone trip to P.E.I. this season for the Remparts.
Before the league expanded to Saint John and St. John’s in 2005, squads from Quebec and the Maritimes could play up to four times, twice in Atlantic rinks.
Now Eastern and Telus Division teams are limited to just one Maritime regular season game and in the President’s Cup crossover semifinals.
Quebec (3-4-0-1), coached by Hockey Hall of Fame goaltender Patrick Roy, brings a tough lineup, despite playing in the third game of a four-contest Eastern Division swing.
Up front, it starts with centre Angelo Esposito, who had 79 points in 60 games last year.
The Pittsburgh Penguins’ 2007 first-round selection is a lock for the big club eventually, but he returned from the Penguins camp in late September to pot two goals and an assist in three games this season.
Add forwards Mikhail Stefanovich, Felix Pétit and Maxime Lacroix and their combined 10 goals and 23 points, and it’s a volatile brew.
“They have very, very talented and skilled forwards,” Jean said of the Remparts. “You want to make sure you put the puck behind their Ds (defencemen). Make sure you play down low against them in their end.”
The Rocket third-year bench boss plans to match up Esposito’s line with P.E.I.’s top line, which includes Rocket leading scorer Brett Morrison, at least early in the contest.
“We’ll see how the game goes,” said the Rocket coach. “Right now, we need to play with Morrison against them. But they don’t have only Esposito, they have two good lines. We’ll make sure that we put our best players against them.”
Saturday, P.E.I. faces the Mooseheads in Halifax. Game time is 7 p.m

“They have very, very talented and skilled forwards,” Jean said of the Remparts. “You want to make sure you put the puck behind their Ds (defencemen). Make sure you play down low against them in their end.”What's this bullshit Jean is spewing about getting the puck behind their D and playing down low against them? With the god awful 1-2-2 system he has the team playing, getting the puck behind the D will mean nothing because everyone will just back off. How long will it take this guy to realize that his system doesn't work? Everyone's stubborn to a point, but eventually most people realize if they're doing something wrong... It's time to take the reins off. Speed kills, our players have tons of it, so let them use it!

I agree Krang. Also.....a good coach plays to his stremgths, and this year the teams strength is offensive punch. Allow the kids to use their offense.

Esposito was the best player on the ice last night in Moncton by far ... played a great game.

I agree Krang. Also.....a good coach plays to his stremgths, and this year the teams strength is offensive punch. Allow the kids to use their offense. Is this really our strength? Other than the top line (which Jean overplays) what offense do we have? I don't think this is our strength at all actually I do agree we should be utilizing our speed much better tho and that Jeans stupid system sucks ass p.s. I don't think Bergeron will be playing... he's hurt.. one advantage we should have tonight is our blueline is young and inexpereinced but Quebec's is ridiculously young.. hit them every shift and pressure them to turn the puck over

Heard some scuttlebutt from the Raise-a-Reader selling papers thingy. A certain GM was heard to say that "they would not be putting up with this foolishness too much longer."
Read into it what you will, but I'd say the two games this weekend are vital in terms of someone's survival.

Either way, something will have to be done with the team's play to fix both problems.
