It certainly adds to the curiousity factor of drawing the fans out to see the game. Kind of like the car wreck scenario....nobody really wants to see one, but when you do you can't help but gawk at it.
Plus it's poster night.....who can't resist a free calendar poster.

Highlight of the night was Lafleur's save on Kempe. Robbery.

Question? Why the hell does Jean leave LaFleur in for 7 goals and then pull him when there is only 3 minutes left in a game but PULL Gelinas after he lets in two goals? ?? Some of LaFleurs that game were just as bad as the two Gelinas let in early tonight. Not sure I understand yet the coaching of this Yannick Jean. Game......even tho we got the win was quite boring to watch until we got to the shootout. Morrison was weak all game and coughed up more pucks this one game then I think I have ever seen him do. Nice to see Doyle get a few pucks in the net tonight. Question? Jean what the hell were you doing crossing over your hands and calling off any retaliation when Doyle was taken down going to the net? Way to go, let one of your star player get run at and sure its ok with our coach...nice one dickhead.....of course we did end up with a powerplay and score a goal but you dont' let players run your guys and then just deem it ok.....nice move coach.... Question? Can you speak Jean? any reason why when getting ready for the OT period you choose not to speak to the players......gotta love the coaching of this guy. LaFleur.....What an amazing save in the shootout, still not sure how you saved it but WOW....hope this helps to build your confidence some, you needed this win as much of not more then the rocket team themselves. Not quite the "Fast Start" Jean said we needed tonight and when they tied the game with less then 30seconds left I thought we were done for sure, but nice to squeak out the win, bring on the Nics.

this team is in terrible troub]le agreed. NOTHING good came out of this game, accept perhaps that beauty save in the shootout. although you give him 2000 chances and he doesn't make that save again.

That Datsyuk-ian save was ridiculous... on the webcast its a bit blurry so I was looking in the net for the puck, and then Lafleur drops it from his glove lol...

How was Latal allowed to take a shot in the shootout?
He got a misconduct at the end of overtime, which means he shouldn't have been able to take a shot and to make it worse he got the GWG.

And to make THAT worse, he appeared to skate over and taunt the Devils bench... one of the Devils looked like he got in his face before the PEI guys off the bench intercepted them... at least thats how it looked on the webcast, maybe it was just accidental contact and maybe he wasnt tauting the bench... but it looked like he skated towards the opposing bench, not his teams...

Fireside I asked myself the same things as you did...I especially didn't understand how he could leave one goalie in for goal after goal after goal after goal but yet pull Gelinas after just 2 tonight...doesnt make sense to me at all. Game was boring to me....I just can't seem to get into them at all this year like none whatsoever...which totally sucks. Lafleur's save was a beauty though, I thought it was in lol

random game thoughts
first off what a horrible start... when is this team ever going to deliver on their lip service? no way we come out flat Jean says.. uhh hello mcdick we came out flatter than Clare Danes
i agree gelinas had no chance on either of the goals but i don't disagree with changing the goalie there.. that is exactly the time to change the goalie.. not as a penalty to Gelinas but to send a message to the team.. plus like it or not LaFleur is our go to guy so it's improtant to show him that you have utmost confidence in him
how about Cliche starting the game on the top line yet again? then after a dreadful shift he doesn't see the ice again
along the same lines Doyle starts out on line 4 with DesRoches and Paynter.. that lasts all of one shift as well.. rumour that perhaps Doyle was being "punished".. some punishment.. 4 minutes in he's back on the big line reaping all the icetime.. oh well he potted a pair of crucial goals and got first star but actually i thought he played very weak for the most part
speaking of weak.. Morrison showed very little desire to compete tonight.. ultimately cost us in the end when his blueline turnover allowed the Foggies to maintain the zone and then tie the game.. good (and shocked) to see he was then stapled to the bench for all of OT... but again that punishment lasts 5 mins.. then there is Mo in the shootout.. he scores which was great but again wheres that message?
i agree 100% with fireside.. Jean didnt say a god damn word.. he gets his little etch a sketch goin but doesnt even bother to show the boys whatever wonderful plan he drew up... sorry but you are an inferior coach.. i wish you were better but you are not.. this team is far too good to play this poorly... we keep this doofus in charge (if he even is) and we'll be lucky to finish 6th in the east
psssst.. the refs didnt notice but we had 6 men on the ice at least 4 times by my count
why didnt Gallant fight in his home debut? what the hell was he waiting for? he shoulda been sent out to take no prisoners after we fell down 2-0.. no sense havin an elite enforcer if he isnt used properly
that stop by LaFleur in the shootout off Kempe was a thing of beauty.. best save i've seen a Rocket goalie ever make..
latal is a colorful character.. loved his little salute to Fillier after his shootout winner
we needed a win.. we got it.. but i'm still not satisfied.. maybe it's just me
