After Lafrenière to Rimouski and Poulin to Sherbrooke, will Moncton be able to convince Newhook to report? Pelletier tore it up in the playoffs...15 GP 14-14-28. Pretty hard to pass up for a player not 100% reporting.

I'm all about trying to be positive but Jenner and the Wildcats tweeting out of excitement is a lot to swallow right now...You finished last overall by 25 points and you're picking THIRD. That's worst case scenario. Well I guess it could have been worse, if the Moose had won 1 less game they'd be picking first overall. Yup, posting that the Wildcats WON THE 3RD PICK is ridiculous. Wow I hadn't even seen that at the time of my post. What's wrong with showing a little bit of disapointment? It's not like your team screwed up. You got screwed. Be truthful. How dumb do they think fans are? Any casual fan that reads their articles knows 3rd is the worst they could have done.

That is the kind of system that I wanted ... but I didn't actually see the system setup. But the Q darlings won as anticipated. Oh well ... 3rd it is. At least we get the first Q pick in the Import draft ... don't we ? The whole point of a draft lottery is so that teams don't do what the WC did. In hindsight, no regrets on selling though, the thing I really dislike is they ignored/botched/messed up the last 4-5 drafts and were trying to fix all that in one trading period, won't be that easy. The only silver lining is, Lafreniere could be in the NHL in 30 months, before the Cats are contenders again, similar to Hischier in Halifax (potentially)next year.

Almost as bad as the behind the door Crosby draft lottery that propped up Pittsburgh when they were almost tits up as a franchise.

I wonder if the Wildcats will try to convince Rimouski to trade the # 1 pick? I know Rimouski likes the super star thing, but you never know unless you ask, offer the 3rd over all pick + whatever? I would offer the #3 plus a 1st next year. cats would likely have to trade the #3 plus RN 1st plus 2 1st next year.

My condolences. Hopefully Shannon can convince Newhook to report?

Jean Brousseau just said on TVA that it remains to be seen whether or not Moncton will draft in #3 position. He didn't say it in those exact words but I interpret that as saying that they will indeed trade up or down.

Rimouski is unlikely to trade Lafreniere barring a ridiculous offer. Sherbrooke has Poulin's brother already on the roster. They are better off taking Pelletier, can likely step in and give them 45-50 points at 15, will report for sure and likely play at least 4 years.
