My condolences, that's terrible luck.

Something curious happened while I was watching the Youtube feed from Rogers of this event. They had the camera on the two Rogers guys the whole time as they were in a Moncton studio, and were apparently watching a feed from Quebec. So they never did show balls popping out ... never showed the feed from Quebec at all. But they reported the #5 pick first ... then 4 ... then 3 ... then paused saying that obviously Rimouski and Sherbrooke will pick 1 and 2 ... and then it was announced that Rimouski had won the 1st overall.
So I'm thinking that they had drawn the results previous and then did a dramatic reveal from 5 to 1. But is that what happened ? Did we actually see the balls come out of the drum on another feed ?
The reason I ask is because it doesn't work if you draw from 5 to 1 ... the draw has to run from 1 to 5.
Did anybody see the feed from Quebec and can you describe what you saw ? Is there a copy if that version online somewhere ?

The reveal was done like in the NHL in front of the 5 GMs.

I'm all about trying to be positive but Jenner and the Wildcats tweeting out of excitement is a lot to swallow right now...You finished last overall by 25 points and you're picking THIRD. That's worst case scenario. Well I guess it could have been worse, if the Moose had won 1 less game they'd be picking first overall. Yup, posting that the Wildcats WON THE 3RD PICK is ridiculous. They really know how to make a bad situation worse. They updated their cover photo on Facebook and the banner at the top of their website to say "Home of the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft" How embarrassing to "brag" about that after what went down the second half of this season. As usual the Irving PR machine working overdrive to put a positive spin on everything.

sorry for the inconvenience cats fans....you'll still get a great player at #3 but Lafreniere is unbelievably good would've been nice to see him play the Titans next year often.. sad to see this happen being the first year they actually change the way they do the draft.

It looked exactly like the NHL reveal. It's ironic that the kings of tanking and one of the main reasons the last place team doesn't automatically draft first, made the playoffs and won the lottery.

Were the GMs not invited to see the whole thing take place ? I'm going to guess that the Governors were from BC, QC, Chic, Shaw. They'd be happy to have the #1 overall player playing in their rinks 4 times a season instead of just 1. It makes no sense at all to do any of this behind closed doors.

Good luck on marketing and ticket sales with a 3rd'ish overall pick. The only thing that could have appeased the fan base after that cluster f**k of a season didn't happen.

Man I am soo happy that Sherbrooke will now have Anderson MacDonald and Poulin tearing up the league but at least we got Campanelli right??? The rich get richer...
Maybe we can lean on Massie? no how about Crossman? No what about Corson?? not him oh I got it Liam Murphy? Brandon Shea? We probably would have f--cked up the first overall pick anyway.
How do you get teams with first overall picks in consecutive years, or teams with first and second overall in same year, but a team with near 50% odds doesn't even have their ball drawn in a lottery, it is defaulted to you, you won nothing!!!

After Lafrenière to Rimouski and Poulin to Sherbrooke, will Moncton be able to convince Newhook to report? Pelletier tore it up in the playoffs...15 GP 14-14-28. Pretty hard to pass up for a player not 100% reporting. Isn't Pelletier the 5'6" guy! Woo bring it on!

Moncton is going to be a very small team going forward if they take Pelletier.

Woo bring it on! 1-he's listed at 5'8" 150lbs liguemidgetaaa.ca/joueur.php?sp_no=359102-That's at 15, kids are still growing, my kid is 15 and he is 5"10" and the doctor thinks he could get to 6'2". 3-skill trumps size any day of the week. I don't want a team full of 5'8" guys, but I'll take a Garland easily above a Murphy. If the kid can be a star or superstar in the Q, you don't pass because he'll only be 5'9" to 5'11" in his prime years.

Moncton is going to be a very small team going forward if they take Pelletier. Taking one small guy doesn't give you a small team. I agree they draft too many small guys overall, but if you can get a star calibre talent, you take that ahead of size. You can draft or trade for size down your roster.
