I mean it’s what he was playing in the khl so he must be pretty solid back there It's the area of weakness on the team so hopefully he comes and plays steady. Did he play defence earlier in his career ? He actually played a handful of games on defense for Bathurst last year, he was pretty good but he skates so much like a forward it was hard to picture him on D at first, he reminds me of Brent Burns, Obviously no where near as good but similar style.

I take it with Miromanov finally arriving here that there won’t be any compensation going from Bathurst to CB to complete that deal?

Desjardins wasn't playing very well and was -1 with the cats when we were playing easier teams and winning all the games. I remember he was the cause of two goals in two consecutive games I watched and seemed slow. I went home and was amazed to see his plus minus over his career given how I thought he was playing. If it was me, I would have said he was playing like a player who didn't want to play for Moncton. Looks like he does want to play for Charlottetown. I was surprised we traded him so quick and for so little. It represented the turn around point for us this year. That being said, this year isn't about this year. You have to be real about a rebuild.

I dunno why Moncton would want to add an impact 20 year old euro now that will cost them the compensation they were going to receive from Bathurst for him not showing up (do they receive anything for him showing up halfway thru the year?)
and then go and play him out of position in hopes that that means the team will trade their legit overage dman (Welsh)
strange days indeed

I can see two scenarios, 1-Welsh is traded for very good return so Miromanov gives you an OA back there. 2-welsh and Miromanov are both traded. Teams already know what he can do at forward so playing D won't affect that.

not many teams in market for a 20 year old Euro tho He is only a euro in name, he doesn't take up a Euro slot. The Cats have Lecoultre and Khovanov(possibly) as Euros.

It's possible, worst case they keep him and it allows them to move Welsh and still have a veteran D if he stays there.
