Gaetan Jobin with the first goal of the World Junior exhibitions games..
Nice to see him having a solid year in U20 Switzerland...10 points in 4 games. No clue what the skill level over there is, but he seemed to show some skill late in the season last year when he finally got accustomed to the NA game.

It would have been nice if he returned this season. Either way, nice to see him in the WJC stage

Seems like he’s loved on social media (a surprise to no one), and even got named third star.
Honestly quite the story, I remember when he got cut in training camp in Pownal however many years ago. I knew the coaching staff was really high on him, but I just didn’t see it. That came back and blew up in my face..
Hopefully he can stick around and get some games in!

Sprong scored a beauty to tie it up in DC against the Islanders.

Three points for Joseph tonight in Pittsburgh's game vs. the Rangers. Wow! Being on the ice in OT with Crosby, and setting up Crosby’s game-winning goal, shows that PO is earning a permanent spot in the lineup.

Josh Currie is on the move again. Pittsburgh has called him up from their AHL team in Wilkes-Barre and placed him on the NHL taxi squad.
Hopefully he can make a move into the regular Pens lineup with this opportunity.
PEI hockey fans would have to be rooting for the Penguins if they had both Currie and PO Joseph in the lineup.

Chlapik is on waivers today, apparently it's for contract termination, likely ends up back in Europe.
Filip Chlapik has been placed on waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract. Chlapik has skated in one game with Ottawa this season and two with Belleville of the AHL. The 23-year-old forward has five goals and 11 points in 57 career NHL outings.

Was looking good pre-pandemic.

I expect that he has an arrangement to play in the Czech league. He was playing with Sparta Praha prior to the January startup and likely has a deal in place to return to that club. Still, it's a little weird how he was outright released. I'm certainly no CBA expert, but I would think the Sens would be able to assign him to Sparta Praha and retain his negotiating rights. so he will be a free agent now I think he still has a future in North America if he wants to.
