You know....Daniel Sprong...the kid who had 32 goals....65pts....in 65 AHL games last season as a 20yr old before getting buried this season in Pittsburgh... The change will do him good....

for those who don't subscribe can you provide a bit more context to this?

for those who don't subscribe can you provide a bit more context to this? There wasn’t a whole lot of context given except to say that he had to Uber by himself from his hotel to training camp rather than get a ride with one of the veterans. I do remember hearing he got into a scuffle with one of the other black aces his first go around and then injured his shoulder in a black aces practice taking a very hard hit. I’d say trade was based more in fact Pens have a good group of forwards that play reasonably good two way hockey and Sprong definitely needs work in that area. The Pens do need some D help so the trade with Anaheim makes sense. Hopefully Sprong will get a chance to reboot his NHL career. He’ll have to work hard as the ducks have some good young prospects in the pipeline.

I wonder how long it will be before we are talking about former Coach Hulton moving and coaching at a higher level?

I wonder how long it will be before we are talking about former Coach Hulton moving and coaching at a higher level? Probably not very long. Unfortunately that is the headache of having a great Coach ... somebody higher up is always watching and planning. He could be named as Canada's World Junior Head Coach as early as the 2020 tournament, and depending on how well he does there he could be gone by the off-season following the 19/20 season. Or ... sooner.

I try not to think about that situation..... I think this is year one of the three year contract. That means nothing. He could leave at any time for a pro offer.

If Hulton were to receive an NHL offer or pro offer of any kind and decided to take it it would do nothing but look good on our organization as a whole, however Hulton is not really a young man in hockey terms.... he's a guy who has done the pro circuit before.... he seems quite happy here in his role.... I am not overly concerned of losing him anytime soon..... we really haven't seen that many Q coaches/gm's move on up recently aside from Ducharme/Bouchard
to follow up on this point i'd be more concerned of possibly losing him to an ohl squad at some point down the road

On another note, I’ve been checking in on Pascal Aquin and he is off to a solid start in the ECHL. 10G 6A in 19 games playing for the Cincinnati Cyclones. Rochester and Buffalo are extremely deep with prospects right now so Aquin will have to work pretty hard to move up but knowing what he was like with Isles that won’t be an issue for him.
