List looks as bad as usual. It's certainly interesting, but it goes to show how a lot of things are subjective. The HP list will look a lot different than this, and teams individual lists will look different than either. For example a guy like Ben Roode being in the second round, I can see that, but that depends on if you value potential over immediate impact. Roode is 6'4, but if he were a steak he'd be saw raw he'd still be moo-ing. Drover in the second round is a head scratcher no matter which way I slice it tho. Seems like one of the strongest years for NB in recent memory, and perhaps a down year for NS?

Seems like one of the strongest years for NB in recent memory, and perhaps a down year for NS? Yes to both. NB was competitive at the combine and that was with 4 of their top players playing at the telus cup. As for Nova Scotia, outside of Drover there is no can't-miss talent really. There are 3 defenseman on from Team Nova Scotia I think will even be drafted (Roode, Carruthers, Welton). Next year should be an outstanding year for Scotia tho. Cam Whynot, Cam MacDonald, Jacob Melanson, Connor Trenholm, Jacob Goobie, Zach Welsh (Nick/Matt's younger brother) just to name a few.... should be a really strong year next year.

so the highest ranked goalie is 28th, wonder if Bathurst makes a trade to get a 2nd rounder in order to draft him, need a new guy moving forward.
anyone know much about the kid? Charles-Antoine Lavallee
Also is this a down year for the draft? I don't look too much into the guys coming from Midget and such, but if I had to guess it seems weaker then last years draft.

I wouldn't say it's a down year for the draft in general. It certainly is for Nova Scotia, and arguably for Newfoundland as well. New Brunswick and obviously Quebec both have a lot to offer tho. There's some good talent from PEI too, actually.

Has there ever been a draft in the past 5-7 years that was doubted but then turned out good?

Lafreniere is a generational talent, Lapierre is not on that level, but he's pretty electric. Explosive skater, skilled, he'll be fun to watch. The first time I saw him play my first thought was that his first few steps are probably the best since MacKinnon.

These rankings are always skeptical IMO... a lot you can like but a lot that leave you scratching your head. Ryan Francis I thought would be a 1st rounder last year and was ranked in the 4th. Drover in the 2nd round leaves me scratching my head... Roode in the 2nd, I can see based off his potential but he is very raw. I like the list as a basis for who’s all in the draft and maybe some idea of where people could go but it also leaves me scratching my head a lot.

Two words that scare me in drafting a player in any league. "Raw" and "A Project".
