Not sure if it belongs here, but listening to the game tonight.. Kyle Moore is good at the play by play. Probably one of the better guys in the Maritimes for sure.

Kyle Moore does play-by-play for the Sea Dogs when they play in Cape Breton. Did not know that . Yeah there was a pretty big shake-up radio wise for the Sea Dogs this season that sees John Moore do play-by-play in Saint John and Halifax for the Sea Dogs but in every other city in the Maritimes they have a local guy doing play-by-play.

Not sure what the Sea Dogs draft pick situation is but honestly I hope you guys acquire some cheap veteran guys for the kids this deadline as you could visibly see that this losing streak is causing some mental fatigue amongst them.

I completely agree. Especially where they don't own their first round pick. They should try to add a 1 or 2 veterans that could help tip the scales against the other teams in the basement. The players they acquire could potentially upgrade next years returning 20's or at least compete for the overage slots.

As much as I hate to say it they need to buy a little bit at the deadline. Look for teams that load up and have little to no room for experienced 18-19 year olds. Get a couple of those guys (with good leadership/character traits and at least a tiny bit of offensive skill) for mid round picks.
These 16-17 year olds need more experience and leadership and help than they are getting right now.

Hmmm ... but why bother to go to that effort or expense to have somebody in other Maritime Cities. Why not just rely on the home team braodcasts. Especially in CB where Pat MacNeil is an excellent PBP guy ... and not too much of a homer. Has the team ever said why they have dropped the radio broadcasts ? I assume it is cost cutting. For me, I'd hire a guy to do an internet broadcast only ... doesn't need to be on radio anymore. Have him sell advertising to cover his own pay and road expenses; the more he sells the more he can make. He travels on the bus and gets a room covered ... but meals are on his own.

It has been a very disappointing first half. I wasn’t expecting the team to be good but I was hoping for more than we have seen so far. I was hoping for more offence from some of the forwards.

As suggested by other posters, I suspect some of the troubles aren’t due to lack of experienced and quality leadership. That is a ton of youth on one team (youngest in the CHL?), makes it real hard to get out of a funk like this.

I think saying "lack of experience and quality leadership" is the nice way of saying the older players aren't very talented. Halifax was very young two years ago, but they also had some quality veteran players that helped bridge the gap and helped the young guys get a respectable 27 wins.
I think in the long run, SJ will reap the benefits of such a poor season. I think if all the young guys improve to their potential this could be one of the greatest junior teams ever. (pretty big If) But right now this is as big of a rebuild as any franchise has ever had. The second half is likely looking as bad or worse without D'Orio in net.

And it was all completely predictable and expected when you finished 2017 with almost zero returning players in your championship winning team. Bottoming out 2 years after that makes perfect sense because nobody pays big for veterans from the bottom of the league.

Would be nice to have a little better coach as well. I don't think Dixon is helping things here.
