This seems fair. We still get a first rounder just a year later. And the first in 2021 is likely to be a lot higher than Halifax's first in 2020. I agree. I know it’s too early to say for sure but this almost seems like a better pick for the sea dogs to get.

Yeah I’d say the 2020 pick is definitely going to be high. Whatever Halifax doesn’t trade this year will definitely be dealt away next season. If it’s a two year stint in the basement then both picks end up being high.

This probably means that Halifax's current plan is to unload all of their returning players of value this off-season, either to complete trades they are currently making or as their own deals. Otherwise I can't see why they would have accepted this revision. I'm sure they could have refused it and stuck with the status quo if they wanted to. Also what happens now if Safin comes back and tears it up in the post-season? Are they going to revise the revision?

Probably. It's also possible that this was not Halifax's plan at the time that the Safin deal was originally made.

Are they going to revise the revision? As for this part of your post, I'm going to say probably not since the revision didn't turn out to be that big of a deal. Part of the reason for that is probably because they considered this scenario as a possibility. They never revised the Tesink revision which did have a greater impact. Not only did Tesink come back in time for the playoffs and perform well, but as a result of sitting out most of his 19 year old season, he was back as a 20.

Maybe we can get Halifax’s 2020 first apart of the rumoured D’orio move

Whether it be 2020 or 2021, I'd say there's a good chance the Sea Dogs end up trading the pick anyway. As of right now it looks like the Sea Dogs will have some 20 spots available for both the 2020-2021 season as well as the 2021-2022 season, both of which should be years in which they should contend. There's also likely to be an import spot available for the 2021-2022 season, unless Cajokvic is back as a 20 year-old import which probably won't happen.

Maybe we can get Halifax’s 2020 first apart of the rumoured D’orio move Not a chance. Halifax have bigger needs. If d’orio Goes there it will be for lesser assets.

Leroux says according to trusted sources Drummondville will acquire Bowers’ rights.

I assume he's coming. Sea Dogs are getting at least a first if he reports per Lalancette

Even if he doesn’t report it blocks a possibility of him going to Halifax if he would have reported to the moose. And if it is for conditional picks then I can’t see them having to give up much if he did not report.

It would be great to see the Sea Dogs recoup one or more quality assets in return for Shane Bowers. If the reported P-O Joseph trade is completed as reported by Mikael Lalancette, I'm not sure if Drummondville will have a 1st round draft pick in the bank before 2022 or 2023. So, I'd expect to see something like 4-5 later conditional picks set aside, which could then be returned at the next draft for a player - or players - based on set team and/or individual results. In the end, I'd be ecstatic if that turns out to be someone such as Olivier Rodrigue or Dawson Mercer (Editors Note: the writer realizes that the chances of this deal and those specific players ending up in Saint John are extremely low - but a guy should be allowed to dream without so-called experts telling him he is crazy or dreaming in Technicolour).

If this is just a deal to block Halifax then what kind of return can we expect if he does not report? If Drummondville is concerned that he might goto Halifax then the Sea Dogs would likely consider it somewhat of a possibility too. What would it cost Drummondville to make it worth the Sea Dogs' while to close the door on any possible trade with Halifax?
