Thought we should open up a new thread dedicated to the trade period.
I can't see the Dogs doing much - would like to see them get an 18/19 year old vet to provide a bit more leadership for the rookies.
From this tweet, it appears D'Orio is on his way to Baie Comeau:
@maximegirouard1
Tel que mentionné le 21 novembre dernier, le cerbère Alex d'Orio des Sea Dogs de St-John passe au Drakkar de Baie-Comeau dans une transaction impliquant Justin Blanchette et des choix au repêchage. Plus de détails à venir.

@atoupinjdq
Plusieurs speculations au Challenge Midget AAA. Le gardien des Sea Dogs Alex D'Orio serait échangé au Drakkar de Baie-Comeau à l'ouverture de la période des transactions. #LHJMQ

It will be interesting to see what type of a return we will get for D'orio. Any thoughts what could get back for Alex?

I mean, it would be nice to get him, but I don't think he'd go to Saint John.

I think he’d probably take a chance anywhere... it’s that or go play Jr. A, as an NHL drafted prospect, playing for a contract, I don’t think he’d not report if they got him.

What's his issue in Baie Comeau. Why does he want out Instead of the above, I would say that it is a mutual affair. Baie Comeau comes with it's challenges for many young players. Not only the small market but relative isolation. They've had a history of having trouble attracting/retaining players. Nathan MacKinnon comes to mind.

Someone on the Islanders board mentioned the possibility of D'orio to Charlottetown due to an injury to Welsh. I can't confirm if any of that is true though. But it would explain the struggles Welsh has had this year.

Makes no sense have PO on the market so your not going for it this year but gonafter a 19 year old goalie that will cost quite a bit to be mediocre?
