It might be the case one needs to be scratched. So they can have six on the roster but only five can dress. I think it matters about the roster also. And if you are carrying a certain number of 16 yr olds it matters how many games they play in as well ... not a maximum but rather a minimum.

Stairs is playing as affiliate and was only going to play in 10 games this year. He has already played in six. If it is true that Lawrence will be out for a while with an illness then that takes care of that problem for a while. If Lawrence is not out long term with 30 some games left if they sat each of them out 1 out of every 5th or 6th game. The games Stairs plays while Cajkovic is at the World Junior's doesn't count towards the 10 games. I call BS on that. Its the fact that you are keeping him away from the team that he has signed a player card for that matters. If he plays 10 games then he is on your roster and no longer on the roster of his Midget team, and you have to find him playing time all season even when your roster is healthy. Not sure why you think an Import being away makes any difference.

From the press release when it was announced Stairs was leaving prep and going to play Jr A in Northern NB:

That says he can play 10 games total. Nothing about games not counting.

That says he can play 10 games total. Nothing about games not counting. But it also says "as well as" indicating that those games may not count. There'd have been no need to mention that if it was a flat 10 with no exceptions. Mentioning that seems to indicate it's an exception to the 10.

I'm just here to clarify the call-up rule.
As soon as a player dresses for 11 games, they're ineligible for playoffs with their respective team whether it be Midget or Junior A.

From what I understand is that if stairs is called up filling in for injury suspension etc. Those games count as the 10, but if a team has players at a tournament then those games don’t count as the 10. On another note I can 100% confirm that D’orio was already told he was going to BC and that they pulled out last minute. At this point he has no idea where he’s going.

I heard it was pretty much a done deal and the only thing left to figure out were conditions if he's back as a 20 next year. Not sure what happened after that.

What's interesting is that if he doesn't get traded (I believe that he will), and stays in SJ for the remainder of the year, I'd say there's a good chance that he's back in the Q next season as a 20. If he gets moved to a contender and has a strong playoff run, there's a good chance he's playing pro next year.

No way D'Orio is back as a 20. Pittsburgh goalie depth is poor. They have Murray, DeSmith, Jarry, Muse then minor league guys. DeSmith and Muse are UFA at seasons end. DeSmith is gonna get paid elsewhere.

The way this team has been managed I would say they are going all in with their crop of 2002 borns. They've paid a big price to get this group together (including a multiple basement dwelling seasons) so I don't think there is any reason to trade one. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jack Williams report in 2 years time.
What about a report next year for Jack Williams?

I don't agree with giving D'orio away just for the sake of trading him but I hope a decent return for him is not being turned down because Georgie wants more if he is back as a twenty year old. I think there is a very small chance that Alex is back next year.
