I'd rather roll the dice on the Euro draft than pay a 2nd for Prykryl. if you draft a kid that doesn't make an impact, you can always trade that pick(or another) to get a veteran at midseason. AA cost a 3rd, Ivan cost a 2nd. For our situation, definitely. If you are a team that needs two new euros for next season, and don't have a great track record of drafting them, offering a pick of some sort for a Prykryl-type might make more sense. Agree, plus he's likely cost more like a 4th or 5th than a 2nd.

It would all depend on what the price is for Prikryl. If the next day SJ has to put him on waivers, then they are more inclined to take a 4th ... but a week before they have to put him on waivers they are holding out for a 3rd minimum. I don't have a lot of faith in our staff to hit it big from the 25-27 draft spot. 25-27 is not late for the Euro draft. Jaskin was picked 22nd in 2012, Bjorkstrand was 26th the same draft and Kucherov went 43rd.
