With so many kids playing the NCAA game(some may actually go), the Cats COULD leverage that to their advantage, but don't pull a Shannon and trade back 4 times and get guys that won't come.
Sometimes the obvious pick is the best one...L'heureux is a very good prospect, given the amount of guys that won't go everywhere, I can see a lot of teams looking at trading up. Too bad the Cats traded away so many picks, adding a 2nd rounder could get them a mid 1st round talent if they can convice one of the NCAA kids.

Is the American draft on Sunday? I’m thinking next Tuesday June 11th. Probably monday morning, June 10th. Should be fairly quick, manager will be commenting by 13h.

So who does everyone want the Cats to take Saturday? Roy, Robidas, Whynot, L'Hereux, Reynolds(If you think we can convince him to come) or would you rather them trade back and collect assets?
I'd like Roy obviously but if he goes to SJ at #1 then I'd be happy with Whynot.

I don't see the point of trading back unless they can get the same player or same caliber player and add a 1st(this year or next) by going back 5-7 spots. The risk is they pull a Shannon and draft a guy that won't report and end up with 3 quarters for a loonie. Trading the #3 pick for veterans is a non starter, doubt a team sends you impact players who have more than 1 year left.

Hopefully we don't see the old Shannon trick, trade back on pickup some High School kids, winning formula. Lol

Wonder if Victo would trade #7 + #17+ #25 for #3 + #28
I assume one of Dean or Whynot would be available at #7

When does the Trade Period officially open? We have some extra 20 Year olds to move. Next Friday but don't be surprised if Capanelli is the only 20 to move Friday and others move at the draft. The article in the L’Acadie Nouvelle made it seem like Moncton is only planning to trade one and see what happens with Aspirot and McKenna before making moves. It also mentioned that Pataki is only 20 this coming season so I guess take it with a grain of salt.

Rumors are that Rodrigue will move, WC should be all over that. Might cost Desnoyers but they need a top goalie.

Won't come cheap, I'd raher trade Desnoyers and keep the #3 pick, it will likely cost one or the other.

There will be other opportunities to pick up a solid goalie (within league, euro draft) ... if we subtract a top 6 forward to get one, we are solving one problem by creating another (i.e. that is one more piece we will need to go out and add mid-season). For me, Desnoyers and #3 are both off the table for a one year rental. If Lavallee + could get us Rodrigue, different story ...

In order to win it all they'll need a top goalie, not just a serviceable one. Depends on how serious they are about winning.
