If it is Matt Gould his numbers were not that good in the USHL.

I mean I guess he's a veteran presence. I've never seen him play, maybe he's better than the numbers indicate. USHL is an older league and Madison was not good last year.

Madison will be terrible again. They don't have a lot of veterans. I'm not sure you can read anything into his stats.

I never seen him play so I don't want to knock the kid because it could have been any number of reasons he didn't produce alot of points. I hope he comes in and is a top 6 or top 9 player. It might just be that he is not a top point getter but Is good in the room, kills penalties and grinds it out which is something we need on this team.

Station Nation confirmed that Matthew Gould has officially signed with the Sea Dogs. He had previously commited to play at Providence College. While his USHL stats were underwhelming, he was quite highly touted in his draft year as a great skater and potential goal scorer. Hopefully this change of scenery will be very good for both sides.
Also of note, William Poirier has signed to play in the BCHL - with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. I really liked what William brought to the team. But he was a victim of the overage number crunch.
Since the Sea Dogs are one of a handful of teams who haven't released their opening night roster, it'll be interesting to see if any other free agents will join the team prior to the start of the regular season.
