That’s how I’m reading it too. Hopefully. I wouldn’t have a problem trading Desnoyers as a future if it meant landing Gabriel Fortier. Him, Cyr and McKenna would be quite the top line. Agreed, if Desnoyers goes this year or as a future it has to be for a more impactful player. Element would be a good add, but I see his value around something like Hebert + 3rd pick + either a MAAA prospect or maybe Sam Dow. From a WC standpoint, that's a great deal, but the cost might be a fair bit higher if it's a seller's market.

I don’t think I would go after MacIsaac, he had a big knee surgery and has not played for months , there must be a better option .

I guess you could be right, I like adding Element, but only at the right price, he is a solid player, but not someone I would overpay for, no way I am dealing Desnoyers, CAL or first round picks for him.

I don’t think I would go after MacIsaac, he had a big knee surgery and has not played for months , there must be a better option . My thinking as well and they will want an overpay from the Cats. Ideally Aspirot comes back, but whether he does or not and they still want to add to the D, then maybe Bolduc or Bouchard, someone like that would be cheaper and possibly a better fit.

Not sure when he will be back, but usually before paying big, I would want to see him play at least a couple of weeks. If he is healthy, there can't be a lot of better trade options to add. He would be an ideal fit.

McIsaac is a better player and a better fit than Bolduc. Bouchard is not as good and might be cheaper.

I was just thinking of the Bourdon trade to CB after his bad ankle injury... 19yr old Bourdon for Barberio and a 1st rounder....i cant see Macisaac going for much more than that...especially since Bourdon had all spring and summer to recoup...not a few weeks

I really don’t think Bolduc will be much cheaper than MacIsaac. Bouchard definitely will though. If Dobson only plays 7 games again this year, does his contract slide again? He’s only played 5 now so I’m starting to think that they may actually send him back before the world juniors.

A little off topic but Craig Button L'Heureux ranked the 11th OA and top Q prospect for 2021 draft after viewing the u17's. I think that backs up the popular opinion that he will be off the table at the at the trade period.

Yeah it was shoulder surgery, or that was what was reported.
