This team is going to make the playoffs this year but unless our goalie steals one it's gonna be a short run I think we should look at a 19yrold forward who will be back next year I can't see us trading any players unless the offer is too good to pass on

I could see the team looking something like this next year. I could also see them running Patenaude/Dasilva in net to start the year and keeping Badalmenti as 1 of the 20's.
Trade(20) Patenaude(18)
Burns(18)-Trade(20)-Cajkovic(19) Stairs(18)-Roy(17)-Lawrence(18) Drover(18)-Reynolds(17)-New Euro(17) Savoie(17)-1st(16)-1st(16)
Villeneuve(18)-Poirier(18) Desroches(18)-Trade(20) McCallum(18)-Desroches(19)

I saw this posted on Twitter from @craigeagles. Would we move Guay or is he to important to the team? Unless they get a boat load for him I feel they should keep him. Unless of course he wants to move to a contender. Would Guay be an upgrade for any of the contenders overagers? firstdownsportspodcast.com/2019/12/05/qmjhl-trade-period-preview-maritimes-division-edition/I Haven’t Got the Slightest I really don’t have the slightest clue what the Saint John Sea Dogs are planning to do going into the Trade Period. What would you do? Obviously, they are going to try to move their great captain Nicolas Guay to a contender, but after that they are probably going to stand pat. Guay’s impact on the young core in the Port City has been truly immeasurable. firstdownsportspodcast.com/2019/12/03/veteran-captain-leaving-a-lasting-impression-on-sea-dogs/Guay has brought creditability, professionalism and accountability to that room. If I’m a contending team or a team looking to build I would also be targeting Aiden MacIntosh. MacIntosh hasn’t had the opportunity to play and has been buried on the Dogs 4th line. He could bring much needed depth and character to any organization. Aiden MacIntosh is all heart and soul! The Dogs have all the pieces in place, to continue to build a championship caliber team in the years to come. There’s great promise in the Port City, but there is a definite feel that the organization will have to start delivering on that promise very soon. Wish List: It might sound sarcastic, but if I’m the Sea Dogs, I only have three wishes 1) Acquire high quality assets for the Nicolas Guay trade 2) Have more than 3,000 people at home games during the second half of the season. 3) Make the Playoffs.

My Christmas wishlist for the Dogs: An 18 or 19 year-old forward who upgrades the top 9 1-2 stabilizing vet D (a Chris Mcquaid would be an awesome add for example) with the number depending on how we acquire the fw An Alexandre O'Neill call up
A new home for anyone that is blocked for one reason or another or for anyone about to become blocked.

That seems about right to me. Regarding targets at forward, Nathan Legare, Alex Beaucage and Andrew Coxhead would all be an upgrade - but all would likely be very expensive. Chris McQuaid would be a very good addition at what should be a reasonable cost. Jaxon Bellamy and Anthony Allepot could be others given consideration, especially since defencemen such as Justin Barron, Chris Merisier-Ortiz and Xavier Bouchard will likely require a King's ransom to acquire.

I don't see Bellamy being available because Sherbrooke should be buying. Thomas Pelletier or Chris Merisier-Ortiz could be possible 2.5 year players if acquired.

Briwhel, I agree that Sherbrooke is expected to be a buyer. IF (and it's a big if) the Phoenix want to add a proven overager such a Nicolas Guay - to finish his junior career with his brother - I'd see Jaxson Bellamy as a prime component of such a transaction.

Their 20s have been good. If they upgrade a 20, it's likely a D.

I did say a trade between Saint John and Sherbrooke is a long shot (big IF). But the Phoenix have been playing Chris Benoit as an overager ahead of Yann-Felix Lapointe.
I simply would like to see a defenceman like Jaxon Bellamy added to the mix sooner than later.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see them be small buyers this year so that they can compete again for the title next years when their best players are 19. All that to say, I doubt they are willing to part with any 18 year olds.

Hometown boy Drew Johnston would be a good fit in SJ.
Brings some skill, character and plenty of sandpaper.
Unless it was an overpayment, I dont see the Isles moving him though......but I do think he would help this SJ team in a lot of ways.

I could see us maybe trading for Bellamy's 20 yo season at the 2021 draft. We should have lots of room for 20s that season and Sherbrooke should be looking to start their rebuild.
It depends how our young D develop and what other moves are made in the meantime. There may be no need to add another defenseman. But as of right now it appears as though he'd fit in in nicely when this team should peak.
