Any juicy rumours out there!?
Can see us interested in a veteran D or possible impact players for 20-21 and 21-22, with that more likely to happen at the draft.

If the only move we make is for a 19 year old defensive defenseman who is good on the PK and likely to be back next season, I'll be satisfied.

I would like to see us add a player or two. Preferably a very good 18 year old or a 19 year old D-man that will be back as a 20. It would also be nice to add some scoring depth up front as well that is in the same age range and has some size. Not sure who is out there and available.
If we are still in sell mode the only guys that I see being moved is Guay and Bouthillier. Not sure if any of the contenders can use an upgrade on a 20 year old.
The other option would be to move a 17 year old that needs a change of scenery.

Would complete your top 4 going forward. Would be back next year and likely the year after as a 20. That would be the guy I would be targeting. Guay likely has more value in SJ than what you could get for him.

They’ll get an extra year out of them and still get a big haul for them next year that likely isn’t massively different from price now.

Two scenarios that I can think of involving the Sea Dogs recently for 18 year old leaving and coming in would be the deal we sent Olivier Leblanc to CB for a first (Joe Veleno) and Jason Bell and the Dogs sending two firsts to BC for Boka Imama.

Imama’s an example of that. At the time 2 1sts for him was overpayment. You’d couldn’t project how he’d find goal scoring touch at 20. But two firsts for what he was at 18 was overpayment. I’m if you offered a sweet deal for Ortiz or say Barron, Baie Comeau or Halifax would take it. Market value not so much.

Larose for Drover is another example. you're right, it might be an overpayment, but I can't think of a better fit for this team if targeting 1 impact player that would be around beyond this season.

I'd much rather target a 19 year old or 2 for now to help us get through this season and who can also help out next season. We can worry about acquiring 2001 born players for much less in their 20 year old season or possibly next season depending on how things develop and what our needs are.

With the trading period just around the corner and the firing of Dixon. I believe the Dogs will add a piece or two to try and improve the team. The reason I feel this way is the comments Georgie made about the team not being where they expected it to be at this point in the rebuild.
I could be wrong and Georgie might think that the coaching change will be enough to turn things around.
I guess the remaining games before Christmas will help him make his decision easier.
If they play 500 or better he might stand pat. If they continue at .431% then I think they add.

I can't help but think adding any experienced players is going to take ice time away from the players that need it. Just like the 1st line of Guay, Cajkovic and Deakin-Poot is overused. All three players that won't be back next year. Same with the 'older' players getting more ice time in special teams, especially PK. I know that the coach wanted to win games, but teaching the 'young' kids proper hockey would go a long way.
