I watched the game ... no Islander left the bench to join an altercation. Their entire team left the bench because the game was over and they won, to go congratulate their goaltender, which is permitted. But there were 20 Islander players on the ice and only 6 Wildcat players, and I'm pretty sure our goaltender did not participate ... nor did Welsh. Shortly after that, you see Pelletier latch onto Casey for a reason I could not tell, but it looked like he was trying to stop something from escalating, and then things went from there. Khovanov was down on the ice on his back with somebody on top of him so expect if he bit somebody it happened then. I was watching online so could only see what the camera showed, so feel free to correct anything that I have stated incorrectly. didn't watch the game as my son was playing at the same time but thats the first thing i thought of when someone mentioned Casey getting suspended..... the game is over..... everyone is on the ice can't comment on Khovanov............ but there's no excuse for someone to bite someone ever.... it's disgusting and unsanitary on top of just being a greasy thing to do.... wanna fight go ahead do it with your fists not your teeth The common excuse is because somebody has his hand in your mouth, no idea if it applies in this case. It’s hard to defend Khovanov because he has done a lot of stupid shit over the years. Seems to lack maturity.

The Islanders were all on the ice to celebrate the win, there was no altercation til likely 10 seconds after the buzzer. I’m not sure what started it, but an Islander and Wildcat were tied up with each other and then of course the other 19 Islander players came in.
I have no clue if Casey will get suspended since he didn’t leave the bench to “join an altercation” as there wasn’t one at the time. If it was minor hockey then you can bet on Hulton being suspended a game, but not sure if that rule applies in the Q.
As for Pelletier, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was just trying to stop Khovanov from doing something. Earlier in the game, Khovanov was leaning over the bench barking at Casey before Pelletier calmly moved down to the end of the bench and stood in between them.

Part of the reason they play Pelletier with him is he does a good job and keeping Khovanov focused. So far he's been suspended twice in his career.... The famous cross checking penalty from last years playoffs against Halifax and a blindside hit 2 seasons ago. I'd say he gets minimum 2 games but given there's very little precedent for "biting" so it could go as much as 5. We'll see what the QMJHL wheel of discipline brings....Gravel had a "hair pulling" penalty over the weekend and got 1 game. With Khovanov he is a very emotional player who doesn't take losing well. For the most part his competitive nature brings far more good than bad but every once in awhile we get a bad incident like this one. I'd love to see the #'s on his PIMS when the team is losing the game vs winning. He's far more valuable to the Cats in the game than in the stands so lets hope they start another winning streak.

Khovanov also had a suspension this year for removing a players helmet in a fight. He is a bit of a problem child. Torchetti has had him reined in pretty good for about a month, but he seems to be getting loose again.

From our paper online .... Casey was yelling at the Wildcats according to Pelletier
Khovanov bit Clavelles finger .... so Casey wasn't even involved in that incident
sounds like Casey was gloating about the win and your guys didn't take too kindly to whatever he said

From the game report, I don’t think Casey got a major, just a minor and game misconduct. There really weren't any fights that I could see ... just Pelletier and Khovanov getting mugged. I may be able to pull some video off the web feed later but too busy right now.

Casey could be gone a while too. Isn’t it automatic suspension for leaving the bench to participate in an altercation? It used to be 10 automatic but I think they changed that. Imama got 15 a few years ago for leaving the bench to start an altercation. I didn't see it but it was more the penalty assessed to him: #20 Thomas Casey First or second player to leave a bench during an altercation, or for the purpose of participating in an altercation GAME MISCONDUCT So did he leave early or the refs see something to assess that rather than it just being at the end of the game?

I just watched it again ... the play is in behind the net when the final buzzer goes. The Wildcat players all head toward their bench as the Islander players are coming onto the ice to celebrate the win. Some Islanders go toward Welsh but you see Casey sort of making a big circle and circling back toward the Wildcat players, and Pelletier grabs onto him from behind, as Khovanov and he are sort of intersecting. From there it is a big scrum and most of the Islander players come up to see what is going on ... I think it is Beauregard (announcer says it was) that took a run at Pelletier and knocked him down, and then I see Khovanov on his back with I think its Laaouan on top of him. From there things get separated. There is a bit of a replay after it originally occurrs that shows a little more. So from that, Casey did sort of "leave the bench to get involved in an Altercation" because he did not go down to see Welsh. I would assume that words were initially exchanged as they went by each other the first time, and then Casey circles back. Anybody wants it I grabbed from my tablet and have it in my dropbox. www.dropbox.com/s/ep3rrz6f6a2ct8u/mobizen_20191118_125352.mp4?dl=0If anybody can upload that here, feel free

Is that the final decision or just the automatic suspension?
