No cormier for the islanders, hope to see l’heureux back in the lineup but haven’t heard either way.
What would it cost for moncton to get Xavier Bernard from the islanders ? Will watch him tonight to try and see if he brings what moncton needs.

If you want to beat them you have to at least match their work ethic.

Of course I always like to see how the local kids are progressing so slightly disappointed with Cormier out in that regard.

Cormier was looking fantastic.... no sign of a sophomore slump at all.... very unfortunate injury and long term one....... don't expect him back until maybe after Christmas..... Alexandrov there were fears of a similar situation but I have heard it's not that bad which is good.... he has literally carried our offense almost singlehandedly thus far..... we have nobody creating anything right now...... Cedric Desroussieaux has been a huge disappointment in that respect

But a top D (like McIsaac) is by far our #1 priority.

Since we only have 6 D on our roster they are going to have to make a move. Unless they want to keep using AP players. I’m very surprised they’ve gone this far into the season with only 6 and not addressed it via FA

Sean Stewart played a strong game last night as did Dejong ... Huntley seemed to struggle last night. Desnoyers also had a strong game and is starting to become more noticeable out there ... he looks physically stronger.
Getting tired of the Referees ignoring every infraction that happens on Khovanov. I get it why they do it ... he embellished almost nightly last season ... but it is corrupt.

Getting tired of the Referees ignoring every infraction that happens on Khovanov. I get it why they do it ... he embellished almost nightly last season ... but it is corrupt. Defensemen are allowed to make mistakes but why would you bother mentioning that Dejong played a strong game? He was solely responsible for Charlottetown's first goal. He should have had all 5 minuses on that one. Next period he threw a blind backhand pass in front of his own net and Rodrigue had to make a big save. I wasn't going to mention him but I had to say it after you mentioned him. Andersson made a couple of bone head plays with a little over a minute left but played great before that. He's close to scoring, wouldn't be surprised to see him get one tonight or Sunday. To your Khovanov point, the Wildcats have the second least amount of PPs in the league. Other teams seem to get away with A LOT on all our guys, especially Khovanov who as you mentioned, kinda asks for it with his dives. Speaking of power play, it's hard to critique it since it's the 2nd best in the league but why do they rarely put Mckenna on his off wing? They insist on putting him in the middle of the ice but he gets easily shut down. If you had him playing off wing you could have Khovanov setting him up for one timers. Yesterday Khovanov made 2 beauty passes to Pelletier in that spot and he missed them both because he's a left handed shot. Mckenna has one of the best shots in the league and we aren't maximizing his opportunities.

Mckenna has one of the best shots in the league and we aren't maximizing his opportunities. You will see with Torchetti as with most smart coaches is he changes up the PP setup during the season and gets the players used to playing in different positions and roles on the setup. I've seen Mckenna setup on the RW and also his off side wing (LW) in PP's earlier this season and last season. If you have him setup constantly at the same spot to setup for 1-T's and wristers from those lower percentage scoring areas then it builds predictability into your play which the defenders can read easier. Changing it up with players in different roles and positions allows the PP players to be more versatile in pressure situations Defenders know Mckenna has a cannon, so having him change to the middle provides an option of: A.) Getting Mckenna into a higher percentage scoring area for the times defenders leave him loose B.) Drawing in defenders who recognize this danger which opens up more pass lanes C.) Mckenna, while not at Pelts' or K's level, is very good at moving the puck as well You will see this setup will change as the season goes along

Its like letting a starting pitcher go through the lineup a third time ... they start squaring him up.
