Big test for Moncton, should have a playoff atmosphere, will B-O Groulx shadow Lafreniere ? Moncton will have to stay out of the penalty box.
Its too bad with the new Conference alignment that Moncton doesn't play the East division teams more ! In the OHL the teams in the same conference play each other at least 4 times (different division same conference) and the teams in the other conference twice. There are a few exceptions Ottawa plays Gatineau twice. I enjoy seeing the maritime division teams but they play each other too many times.

Should be close to 7000 tonight, lets hope this is an entertaining game as there could be lots of people checking out their first game since the trade deadline, or possibly their first game of the season who would consider coming back for playoff games.

I spoke to a lot of people who don't normally go to the Wildcats games but they're going to this one.

That's the draw of a #1 ranked prospect combined with 2 top teams being in action. For a hockey fans these games are about as good as it gets outside of a playoff series.

Great to see moncton get outshot and face some adversity ! and none more fitting than pelletier to score a beauty in OT ! Rodrigue was one of our best players if not the best .

This one felt like a playoff game. I thought Fortier was the best player on the ice all night. Worth the price of admission by himself. Despite the shots I thought the Cats generally outplayed them. Their forecheck is relentless and awesome to watch. Rimouski only really generated the majority of their chances on the PP. 5 on 5 the Cats were better. They contained Lafrenniere pretty well.

Any chance there is a site that monitors ice-time for junior games? Lafrenierre must have played 30+. He had 10 minutes in PP time alone. I don't know if this game was an outlier, but his stats might be inflated a bit by the enormous amount of ice he sees in a game. Not taking away from his talent, but give Khovanov 30+ and full 2 minute PP time and I'd wager he leapfrogs Lafrenierre on the leader board.
Overall, really good game by the Cats. The only even strength goal scored was when McIsaac & Dejong were off. They contained Lafrenierre and dictated the play 5v5. They shots were pretty even, given the huge advantage Rimouski had in PP opportunity. I was sitting behind the Moncton bench when Dejong lambasted Lafrenierre in the first period. What a hit and I think that set a bit of the tempo for Moncton after that.
Both goalies played well, but I think Ellis faced more quality scoring chances and deserved a 3rd star of the night. Moncton came in waves and Ellis consistently shut the door.
Khovanov hit a crossbar and Pelletier missed on his first breakaway of the night. Would really enjoy a semifinal matchup with this team.
Boggles my mind that Rimouski didn't insulate Lafrenierre with more at the deadline. They will go as far as he takes them in the playoffs. Not sure how he will do in a 7 game series playing that much hockey.
Bolduc looked really good for a rookie and was IMO their 2nd best player. Effortless skater and really good offensive instincts.

Rimouski definitely had the lead thanks to those 5 PP's. The Cats need to stay away from useless penalties. I believe 3 of the 5 were in the offensive zone and the Hudson one was dumb also. Rimouski has a good team but the WC are deeper up front, both teams have good goalies.

Rimouski added a lot(Coxhead Guay Flower Bergeron etc) but they started with no depth. Only so much you can add before it messes up your chemistry.
