Playoffs are officially cancelled. So let’s really start discussing next year who are some players you would like to target? What would it cost to get Grimard and Element from Cape Breton? We would get our goalie to split with Goobie and we would get our 20 year old leader that won’t let our players get pushed around. I think Element is exactly a Hulton type guy and would be a great fit. if you want to bring Element I don’t think we have what they want to get for a player like him. They gave up a 1,2 and 3 rounder plus two players |

Yes I understand that he would cost a lot just saying he would be a perfect fit. I think if we trade for a OA it will be for a Dman anyways. What would Grimard cost? Maybe a change of scenery is what he needs?

Maybe the Baie-Comeau 2022 3rd? That’s the only 3rd they own in the next three drafts. There is definitely compensation attached if Bernard returns as a 20 .... I thought it was a third but could be mistaken |

I was looking at teams with an abundance of 20 year old D who may be available and Sherbrooke should be a perfect fit for us to add a legit OA D man if we’re looking for one. The fans of the Phoenix seem to think Kreisler will be the odd man out if he is we should definitely after him. We could maybe give them the pick they owe us for Compensation since they’re thinking Bernard will be back plus maybe a 4th ?

Maybe go Desruisseaux,Casey and Peyton or Edwards? I myself would go Edwards over Peyton I feel he has a better chance of breaking out offensively than Peyton.

Notwithstanding a trade involving an OA player, I think we'll see the team commit to Casey and Desruisseaux and then Peyton, Edwards, and McQuaid compete for that last spot.
I (like many) wasn't a big fan of McQuaid, but he did play better in the final three weeks of the season. He won't provide much offensive punch from the back end but he is a big, experienced blueliner. Both of Edwards and Peyton provide potential to emerge offensively... but would be no sure thing, that's for sure.
The thing about 20 y/o players is that the excellent ones are expensive but the average and above average ones are usually pretty cheap. So there's not really a market to try to trade one of McQuaid, Edwards, or Peyton.

i see no reason at all to waste any assets on an overage dman
one of Peyton or Edwards should be given the 3rd slot and the other moved for an asset
McQuaid can come to camp and then play junior A
i dont like to pick on any player but i happened to watch the video clip of the Isles award nominees the other day and it was hardest working player.... all the guys nominated had nice little highlight packages and then there was Mcquaid .... they just showed his titantron entrance.... i actually felt bad for him they couldnt find a single play to highlight

I don’t think he will be a OA option I’ve talked to a couple of Sherbrooke fans over on the French forum and they seem to think of Bernard comes back as a 20 that Crete -Belzile or Kreutzer will be traded to us to complete the deal. Not sure how true that is though. |

I'd love to see Peyton back, he just brings a lot to the table for the team and he isn't afraid to stick up for his teammates.
He may not get the C, but he's certainly deserving of it if he does.

He's just so inconsistent. At times, he looks like a man amongst boys.....but he only teases us with that.....but I do see him having the inside track as a 20 on this roster....to join Casey and Desruisseaux. For the "C"? My choice would be Noah Laaouan. |

Desruisseaux had injury trouble as well so that may have made him a bit inconsistent not sticking up for him just maybe a reason why he struggled. Peyton was inconsistent playing with a lot better line mates than why Edwards played with. I’m just not a big Peyton fan there’s been different times a player from the Islanders has been hit with a questionable hit and Peyton is on the ice and skates away and does nothing. He’s nowhere near physical enough for the strength he has.
But I agree give Laaouan the C next year. And Budgell Casey and Beauregard the A’s
