Edwards was rumoured to be heading to Summerside to play with the Caps after the deadline...but we ran into some injury trouble and he ended up playing well around that time too.
If he barely made it as a 19, I can’t see him taking a 20 spot.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see McQuaid take that 3rd spot. Like it or not, but him being an Islander will play a part I’m sure. He also has the experience. I’m just not sure you want your 5-6 dman to be an overager.

Mcquaid is not a option I thinking they want a 20 OA they will go with one via trade. I hate when people think a player should be on a team because they are from the same city. If Edwards get a shot at camp I think he will beat out Peyton and Mcquaid both. Just my prediction

I think he will be given a fair chance but not a guarantee to make it. He was playing some good hockey before the injury though.

Wonder what the chances Ryan Greene could report from what I hear is he would be a legit top 6 forward right away.

One of his teammates at Selects Academy, defenceman Conor Shortall, who is another 17 y/o Newfoundland product, signed with Drummondville yesterday.
Greene would be a huge addition to us.
All just speculation. Shortall had no NCAA commitment. Greene was committed to Boston College since before his Q draft year.

To steal from a debate on the Seadogs board - as a parent, this might not be the time you want your child in the US ... might bode well for more kids staying home in Canada for the next couple of years ...

When that topic started on the Sea Dogs board a couple of weeks ago, I said, "No way that every bears an impact on a players decision".... now... maybe it will have some sort of impact in keeping players north of the border.
Will we even see the 2020-21 season start on time? I'd say it is unlikely.

I was looking at our 20s for next season and realized Alexandrov will be 19. I’m guessing we’ll be losing him to the AHL, providing that’s what St.Louis wants.

He’s already signed a contract with the Blues organization, so he will be playing with their AHL affiliate.

I was thinking about our captain situation for next season as we’ll be losing our Captain and probably an assistant, I think it will be C-Casey / Budgell A-Casey /Budgell A- Laaouan A- Cormier
What’s your guess??

Just seen in Elite Prospects it says Jobin is rumoured to be playing in what looks to be a Swiss pro league next year if that’s the case do we draft 2 new euros or do we look to trade for one?

Be that as it may, Christian Dubé still needs to finalize his roster for the 2020-21 season. It's no secret that he would like Gaëtan Jobin to return to the fold. The youngster, for his part, will decide in a couple of weeks whether he will return to Switzerland next season.
He did, however, tell La Liberté that the fact that Dubé is willing to use his young players (Sandro Schmid) and the new arena in Fribourg is tipping the scale in favor of a return to the National League: "My current inclination is towards a return."
Just copy and pasted this from the Swiss hockey news website so it’s looking like we will Need a couple imports next season too bad I was excited to see what Jobin could do with experience in the league.
