we could have a decent team next season , depending on who goes to Halifax for the MacIssac and Groulx deals, have heard it will be L'heureux and some say Desnoyers.
I would say overagers would be Dejong , hudson and maybe DLCornish unless we get lucky and get a star player back , MacIssac, fortier, andersson or BO groulx.
We also could get lucky in the Import draft and maybe find a good goalie and or forward/dman.
I liked what I saw from Pavan and Wilson when they were called up didn't really get to see any of the forwards that were called up.

The Cats have some promising young D but not much in nets or up front. By promising i mean a few guys that could become #3-4's if all goes well. If Desnoyers and the happy go to Halifax then there is not much up front under 19. In an ideal world they can add two very good young Euro forwards to make things interesting at the Colise...Avenir Center the next year or two. That is one area they can be better, Khovanov and Andersson were very good picks, but sticking with Lecoultre last year instead of swinging for the fences with a 13th pick was a dumb move. Rossi went 18th to Ottawa, he will be a top 10 NHL pick.

If L'heureux is gone and Pelletier doesn't come back I won't be renewing my season tickets for next season !
L'heureux is one of the best "all around" 16 year old players that I have watched in all my years watching junior hockey ! he has all the tools and the toolbox !
I would rather Moncton trade Pelletier and/or Spence to get some picks back and give halifax another 1st rounder than trade L'heureux.
I will still support my team but will probably get a flex pack

The fear I have with ZL is if he is back, they keep him, he gets drafted high and jumps right to the NHL and they end up in a 5 year rebuild. As much as the lost season hurts, the WC need to be serious about the rebuild and not have 3-4 years of mediocrity. Weather they want to get in a cycle of "going for it" every 3-4 years or not, right now they need A TON of picks and young players. There is not much in the pipeline and a pile of 2020, 2021 and 2022 picks are gone, even with the ones coming back.

From the various sources and rumors, here is what I hear in terms of futures for McIsaac, Fortier and Groulx:
Z.L’heureux to Halifax
For 1st in 2022 2nd in 2022 3rd in 2022 2nd in 2020 then 2nd in 2020 2nd in 2022
To BC for
3rd in 2020 3rd in 2020(Sha) 4th in 2021 4th in 2021(Sha)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Net effect
Z.L’heureux to Halifax
For
2nd in 2020 3rd in 2020 3rd in 2020(Sha) 4th in 2021 4th in 2021(Sha) 1st in 2022

I already purchased my playoff tickets before the outbreak So you were willing to support the trades that they made then ... but not now. I see.

I had no say in the matter of trades ! I will always support my team but that doesn't mean that I have to like what they did at the trade deadline ! I always try to make it to all the games at the Avenir that I can, especially the playoffs.
I don't support the going all in like Captain Obvious does ! I know that's the way most teams in the Qmjhl are headed , but I like building a good team through the draft and be competitive every season with some key additions when you have a really good team approach , like brian kilrea used to do in Ottawa with the 67's. I don't agree with trading 1st rounders before the draft.

If Hulton can make moves like that and our team play like yours did down the stretch. They’d never have to worry about losing me as a season ticket holder as long as I could afford it

I don't agree with trading 1st rounders before the draft. Nobody has ever won anything in the Q using that method. The only OHL team to do it was London and they spent a boatload of cash on US and NCAA bound players. This formula is not realistic for the WC IF you want a realistic shot at winning a title. That being said... Had the Cats better managed assets the last 8-9 years, they likely would not have needed the scorched earth rebuild in 16-17 or having to empty the cupboards in 19-20. They need to stop wasting good picks and young players on fringe depth guys in non contending years. The Aantalainen/Giguere/Huntley type deals. You keep your picks and draft young players, some can be productive players or trade bait when you really have a shot. Those 3 trades cost: 3rd 2019, 2nd 2020, Kingsbury-Fournier(16-2018 2nd rounder)and 2nd 2020. Those 2nd and 3rd round picks, if you draft well, can turn into top 9 forwards and top 4 d-men. /rant
