Nice pickup by the Dogs. Hopefully he plays the entire season with us and doesn’t go pro when they start playing again. I also wonder if the league is leaning towards allowing 4 20 year olds. Wouldn’t you think though that the league would have made that rule change clear by now if they were gonna do it for this season? I expect 3 20s is the way it will stay. I agree that you would think they would have ruled either way by now so it will probably still only be 3 but they haven’t said no yet so there is still a chance.

Sounds like the Dogs are adding a few "part-time" players?

Happy camp day!
Good luck to all who are in camp, and hopefully next year the team can invite a full compliment again so that everyone can have the camp experience.

I wouldn't be shocked if teams are permitted to carry extra 20s for longer than usual but only dress 3 per game. Assuming Kotkov reports, it looks like the 2 goalies will be competing for 1 20 spot and Leonard and Gould will be competing for the other once everyone is able to get into the country. Gould will have to isolate for 14 days and will likely need time afterwards to really get into game shape before they can truly evaluate him and decide who they want to go with. Other teams could be getting guys back but not know for how long with the pro leagues starting later than usual. It makes it hard to cut or trade guys when you know there's a chance they could be losing some of the other guys that are ahead of them.

I was a tad bored this morning, so I filtered through pictures posted online to try to determine what numbers the players are wearing in training camp. In case your interested, here's the list (with ages);
Forwards: 48 Bezeau (18) 12 Burns (18) 74 Carruthers (16) 14 Drover (18) 24 Girouard (19) *4 Gould (20 - US) ETA ?? *23 Kotkov (20 - Import) ETA ?? 18 Lawrence (18) 22 Leonard (20) 61 C. MacDonald (17) 44 Carter McCluskey (17) 7 Reynolds (17) 19 Roy (17) 10 C. Savoie (17) 67 Stairs (18) 39 Vander Voet (19)
Defence: 58 DesRoches (18) 25 Dixon (18) 2 Drapeau (16) 6 Gartley (16) ?? Hampl (18 - Import) ETA ?? 56 Innis (19) 21 MacCallum (18) 54 Poirier (18) 32 Sibley (19) 13 Villeneuve (18)

It's my understanding that QMJHL teams are supposed to reduce their training camp rosters to 27 in the next day or two. Per the Q website, it appears that the Sea Dogs have done that already. It's interesting to note that Vladislav Kotkov remains on the active roster, while Matt Gould and Jan Hampl are not. It's likely that both could still be coming later - and other changes made accordingly.
In absence of any further trades prior to the start of the regular season, the opening roster will only require reassigning 1 or 2 forwards, 1 or 2 defencemen and a goaltender.

If that is true - I see 1 Goaltender and 1/2 D'men. I see the current 14 forwards on the list staying with them keeping 2 spare bodies. When Kotkov shows up then Bezeau or McCluskey being the ones to go. That will be the same when US players are allowed for Gould to show up. ON Kotkov - I heard that the San Jose Sharks were already working on his Visa already so he may be hear sooner than we think. Now we see how the goaltending goes over the next couple of games. Heard Gravel (Mooseheads) gave a list of teams he wanted to be traded to and it included the Sea Dogs high up on it. (Again - possible speculation)

The deadline is on the weekend I believe to get down to 26 or 27 players. Most teams are giving everyone the full first week to show their stuff, especially the guys that had to quarantine for 14 days

Interview with Georgie discussing the Kotkov deal and when he may join the team and the possibility of another trade before the deadline this weekend.

Sea dogs are the team to beat there’s no doubt in this division. If Hulton doesn’t address the scoring for Charlottetown I think the Ellis trade will be a terrible deal just based on its not the right tome to acquire a goalie of his caliber when your not a true contender.
