Thank you Captain Obvious. Your point? My point is we still can’t play defense and still can’t coach it either. Maybe we would have been better off:
1. Acquiring a defenseman that can play the position
2. Acquiring a coach that can teach the position
Our problem thus far has been keeping the puck out of our net, not putting it in the opposing one.

Costs Stairs + 2023 1st + 2023 2nd and a swap of a 2022 6th (SHE) with a 2021 6th (QUE).
I guess Cape Breton is hoping Saint John bottoms out in the 2023 draft, but their window may still be open at that point.

This feels a lot like Hi we got Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Brett Hull on our team. Our best defenseman Is Todd Gill.....I KNOW LETS GO GET STEVE YZERMAN!!!!! There are multiple ways to win. Bludgeoning them works just as well as being good all around. |

The season is a write off - unless the plan on playing in to the late summer. Seems pricey to pay a 1st, 2nd, and Stairs for an OA season of Francis if this year is a write-off. I don't think they heavily invest in a 20, or anyone like Poulin/Beaucage/Barron who will only stick around for the rest of this year, but I can see them adding a Baker or Bernard in a separate trade to improve their defense. I don't think they want to get into the all-out arms race with the Val D'Or and Charlottetown's of the QMJHL, but I think they want to make sure they are competitive enough to get their rookies and young guys some valuable playing experience and maybe surprise some teams. |

Over 1000 games in the NHL 1214 PIM stay at home Dman. Imagine if we had 6 of em 🤔 |

Wow, did Dawson Stairs dirty, thought he was pretty good.
Gotta changes some things up though and Ryan Francis will bring a different sense of energy to the dressing room, hopefully they get him as a 20. Not beneficial for him but beneficial for the team!

Yea that's the downside of a build like Saint John's, you get guys like Drover and Stairs who are top 6 guys and you just don't have room for them |
