.......and you run the risk of getting into an All Skill - No Will type of Team ....when you off load certain Players and have the majority of your Forwards who lean towards the Offensive Side of the Game .

Things have cooled off on the Joshua Roy trade request rumor's. I'm not sure if there was any truth to them or not. Has anyone heard if he has returned to the team yet or is he still home in Quebec?
It would really suck if we need to move him but if we do, I sure hope we get a good return because I have a feeling it will come back to bite the Dogs if they do not get a good return.
If the offers are not good enough should they make him stay home and try to trade him in the off season or take the best offer now?

He’s not coming back There has got to be more to this then the constant isolation between Home and Saint John . He is your Top Scorer ...I am guessing he gets tons of ice time.......he is a First Rounder in all the Mock Drafts......Can't see a scenario where an Agent would advise him to get out of there ...at least not right now ....wait for the Off Season......Maybe a Family Situation back in Quebec ?

I'd be shocked if he didn't ask for a trade given where this came from, but if teams don't want to pay, he will be back. Outside of Gatineau (from whom the price would be foolish because it could compromise our chances in 23), the team with the best assets is likely Rimouski, where we would ask for a huge haul

So what is the reason he's asking for a trade? Problems with the team? The recurring 2 weeks of isolation? Personal reasons? School?

Well if it is true that Roy wants out and is not coming back then is it time for a GM change or do we need to give Gilbert the entire season to save TG's job?
Don't get me wrong I have been a supporter of Georgie and feel that he has made some good moves and he is not to blame for everything. But GM's and coaches have been let go with better records than his over the years.
We are on our third coach with this group. From the sounds of it the guys that he has drafted are not content. Roy, Drover, Stairs to name a few. And to start the season the team is not as good defensively as it should be.
Also our 20 year old situation was not handled as good as it should have been.

I like the pickup of Francis, assuming there are some conditions in case there's no playoffs. But I think Bellamy is the 19 year old we really should have targeted. We'd probably have to move a D to make room for him either in that move or another one. Could have offered Villeneuve in a trade that would have seen each guy goto their hometown but not sure if the Phoenix would have been interested in a D only 1 year younger. They likely would have wanted Drapeau.

Afaik, Roy likes it in SJ. His agent likely isn't a huge fan of our 2 + 1 line system. Without Drover and Stairs, Roy should play with Francis and one of Kotkov, Reynolds, Lawrence, acquired 20.

And to start the season the team is not as good defensively as it should be. Also our 20 year old situation was not handled as good as it should have been. We are now seeing the damage caused by an inexperienced coach with a very young team from two years ago. Technically yes, third coach with this crew, but Cowan was never gonna be the head coach beyond an interim basis, and he’s been a constant on the coaching staff. Drover was not drafted by the Seadogs. In hindsight I’d say the Larose-Drover trade would be one the Dogs would like to take back. With Roy, hard to say what his problem is as he has developed nicely and is getting good ice time with good linemates in SJ. Stairs, well I’d say he played himself out of a top 6 role to the fourth line. As far as the 20s, Kotkov would likely have made a huge difference but the pandemic has derailed that one. I’d hate to be a GM (or owner) of any CHL team these days.

www.tvasports.ca/2021/01/20/sea-dogs-joshua-roy-bientot-echange-1translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&prev=search&pto=aue&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=fr&sp=nmt4&u=https://www.tvasports.ca/2021/01/20/sea-dogs-joshua-roy-bientot-echange-1&usg=ALkJrhjE45h2PjR608bhZMFnE_xp4fdjbwThe first overall pick in the 2019 QMJHL Draft, Joshua Roy, wants to leave the Saint-Jean Sea Dogs. The 17-year-old forward has asked GM Trevor Georgie for a transaction and did not report to the New Brunswick roster. He should change his address in the next few days. For the moment, the reasons for this request remain extremely unclear. In the entourage of the young hockey player, they have refused for several weeks to disclose the reasons for this disagreement between Roy and the Sea Dogs. Again Wednesday, we were walking on eggshells. What we are told, however, is that it is unrelated to its use on the rink. Roy ended the opening leg of the season at the top of the team's scorers with 17 points in 15 games, while being used to all the sauces by coach Greg Gilbert. Teams in the race For the moment, the former color-bearer of the Chevaliers de Lévis has remained at home while waiting for a transaction to be completed. The native hockey player of Saint-Georges-de-Beauce wanted first and foremost to avoid complying with a mandatory quarantine by going to Saint-Jean, only to then have to do another in the very likely event that it is traded to a Quebec team . Note that Roy hasn't asked to be traded to any particular market, but our information tells us that it would be surprising for Georgie to send the 17-year-old prospect to a rival in the Maritimes. The price demanded by the Sea Dogs hockey man would be high but, as of Wednesday, several teams had shown interest and three teams were at the height of the race. Everything therefore indicates that it will change its address by the transaction deadline, January 25. Draft year It's not exactly an ideal scenario for a young hockey player who is in his draft year, let's face it. On the preliminary list of the Central Recruiting of the NHL, published at the end of October, Roy had obtained a rating "B", reserved for prospects of second or third round. Joined Wednesday morning, the agent of the Beauceron striker, Olivier Fortier, assured that this situation would not harm his client. “Joshua won't have a problem with that. When everyone will know the circumstances, they will understand, ”he simply said, also refusing to give further details. For his part, Trevor Georgie did not respond to our calls.

Les SeaDogs ne laisseront pas le champ libre aux Islanders dans la division des maritimes.. Ils auraient fait l'Acquisition d'un des meilleurs gardien de la ligue...
The SeaDogs will not leave the field open to the Islanders in the Maritimes division. They would have acquired one of the best goalies in the league ...
