Early talks have Saint John acquiring Desnoyers from Halifax. Mostly picks involved with some being sent back at the draft and Cam MacDonald going to the Mooseheads. Cam Russell and Trevor Georgie don't have a great relationship. If the trade doesn't happen, that will be one reason why. Halifax getting their own 2022 1st back and SJ's 1st in 2023 would be a good start. Nobody knows the personal feelings Cam and Trevor have after the Safin debacle, but I wouldn't be surprised if Cam looked elsewhere first and demanded a premium package from SJ. Georgie would have zero leverage in trade talks given their Mem Cup hosts. I honestly think that this is overblown. Assuming both are professionals (which we have no reason to believe otherwise), they would have buried the hatchet long ago. Keep in mind that we traded Orr to you for a perfectly reasonable price a couple of years ago. Also, keep in mind that the Safin incident wasn't a huge fight between Cam and Trevor, it was a disagreement about what information Halifax had access to. And if anything, the resulting ruling from the league was basically a slap in the face to both teams because it made no sense (much like everything else Courteau does). OTOH, if Desnoyers played for Moncton, they simply wouldn't trade him to SJ at any price.

Shopping elsewhere is always an option.

Halifax can't get their 2022 1st back from Saint John as Saint John traded it to the Eagles to complete the Ryan Francis trade at the draft this past June.

If you can get Fedor Svechkov out of Russia, maybe send a message to bring along Matvei Michkov and drop him off in Charlottetown I'd say the most cost effective way to improve would be the 2nd import spot. I wouldn't completely rule out one of the 20 spots though. Svechkov would look really good in SJ

Take the runors with a grain of salt but so far there have been rumors linking us to Desnoyers, Robidas, Tourigny, and Peeters.

Our only hope (and it isnt going to happen) is that Nashville makes Svechkov happen. As an undrafted player, there is no way to bring him over (unless Charlottetown's owner wants to pull a London-level power move)

The only way Michkov appears in the CHL if he does like Panarin and speaks out about the Putin regime, lol. The deal SKA St. Peterburg has with Michkov is said to be so lucrative that it might keep him out of the NHL for a few years despite the fact that he's in the mix to be a top NHL pick in 2023. If you can get Fedor Svechkov out of Russia, maybe send a message to bring along Matvei Michkov and drop him off in Charlottetown Michkov is pretty much impossible. Not sure if we need another offensive Dman, but if we can keep him out of the hands of the competition, ok. Rather would see Ivan Ivan instead of Peeters, but maybe he just needs a change of scenery. Would we have the means to pull off these trades?

Would we have the means to pull off these trades? We do have alot of Assets. On top of the draft picks, we have some good players and prospects that could go now or as futures. Here are a few that I can think of that should be in the league this year and or next year. Drapeau 17 Reynolds 18 Macdonald 18 Savoie 18 Despont 18 Burns 19 Lawrence 19 Desroches 19 Grenier 16 Brideau 16 Burbige 16 Elie 16 Woods 16 Bilodeau 16 2022 - Saint John: 1-1CHA-2-2GAT-7-7VIC-8-9-10MON-10GAT-11-12-13-14 2023 - Saint John: 1-2-3ROU-4-5-6-10-11-13-14 2024 - Saint John: 1-2-3-5-6-7-7VDO-8-9-10-11-12-13-14
