Does anybody know if the pickard trade was conditional on mercuri showing up I like pickard but he's not worth a 2nd. Let them keep the 2nd and give us first chance at Robidas lol

To me, you are hosting the Mem Cup. This is the literal time to push all of your chips into the middle. We have a ton of players who could go the other way at the draft to recoup some picks to quickstart the rebuild, and we are sitting on two first and two second-round picks this year and our top 3 round picks in each of the next two years. We have the assets, use them. I'm all for going all in. I don't think the rebuild would be much worse than what we've been use to. Look at other teams that bought more than we did during our championship seasons (Shawinigan in 2012 and Charlottetown in 2017). Shawinigan beat us in the semis 4 years later and Charlottetown has remained competitive all along. It can be done if they stop focusing too much on one age group. That being said, at some point it becomes overkill and you need to keep team chemistry in mind. If you bring in too many guys then some guys that have been here for a while likely won't be happy with their smaller role. It would be more satisfying to win with the nucleus of players we currently have. Desnoyers, an upgrade on the 2nd import spot and a few depth moves should suffice. After that, it's up to the players and coaches to get it done.

I've seen the good bad and ugly but would take another mem cup win for 2 or 3 down years. After we were awarded the mem cup I would like to think trevor has already made the deals to improve the team.

Everyone seems to think Halifax are going to move Desoyner. They are currently 7th overall in the league standings. They might hold on to him to see if they can win a round or two.
If he is available I think the Dogs really need to do everything they can to get him. One to have him in the lineup and two keep him away from the other contenders.
If they can upgrade the Euro spot with a top forward and add Desoyner and another shut down dman and possibly another depth forward they should be very competitive

If they can upgrade the Euro spot with a top forward and add Desoyner and another shut down dman and possibly another depth forward they should be very competitive There is a near 0 percent chance of that happening. Their core is made up of 03s outside of Desnoyers. They will be much better next year, and adding whatever pieces they can from Desnoyers (and possibly Peeters) will only strengthen them for next year (to limit what pieces they have to acquire). They are 7th, but at some point, Bathurst is going to catch them because they are too talented to be as low as they are. Also, the East is 3 or 4 teams at the top (depending on your opinion of Bathurst) then a very big drop off. The West is fairly even, which means that at some point the unbalanced schedule is likely going to cause Halifax to get beat, while the West teams play a lot of close and/or 3 point games.

Sounds as if one of the current 20s will be on their way out. Not sure if Dube will sign, but they must be looking to upgrade one of them.

I’d say Lemieux will be gone.. Lapenna in? No, imo it will be Inniss. He's currently our 5th/6th D as an OA.

None of the twenty year olds have been great this year.
Innis is ok but as you say is a 5 or 6th dman and you would expect more from a 20 on a Mem cup team.
Lemeuix has been hit and miss. Looks good at points but not at other times.
Francis is another one of those skilled players that is week defensively and makes bad decisions with the puck.
