A 6th and Matis Ouellette for Stairs.. likely that were done. Ouellette was our last big asset to use

Glad they got Stairs.
It seemed obvious for sometime that he was a player they were zoned in on.
Eligible to return as a 20....to be part of the team or for trade. Similar to the new netminder they acquired before Christmas.
Will help top 6....and the 2nd pp unit.

We still need a forward IMO.. Ouellette and Oliver were playing top 9 minute most of the year.. we added 1 but need 1 more

Ouellette and Oliver were playing top 9 minute most of the year.. we added 1 but need 1 more Langlois would actually be a great addition to the Islanders, a "hulton" style player, but I don't know if the Islanders have the assets that the Cats are needing. He'd be a solid 20 next season and they'd need to pay to replace him. |

He'd be a solid 20 next season and they'd need to pay to replace him. I think the Wc would want a couple of picks back 2nd and 5th or 3rd and 4th minimum. |

hope to be proven wrong but his track record doesn't inspire me to think he's a Hulton guy who will thrive here

I've been hoping they landed Stairs for a couple years now. Being on this team, this season, he can play without the pressure of being the "go to guy". He will help their already potent PP.....and strengthen their 2nd line. I really believe that we will see him put up really big numbers the remainder of this season. I believe that Hulton has been eyeing Stairs the past couple seasons...so I believe he thinks it will work out here. We'll see how it goes.....but I personally am very happy with this acquisition . Put up a huge 2nd half.....and trade him for assets next season. |

not gonna sugarcoat it i was certainly hoping for a much better player than Dawson Stairs for Oullette hope to be proven wrong but his track record doesn't inspire me to think he's a Hulton guy who will thrive here Might be a guy that needs somebody to get him the puck in the OZ, could thrive with Simoneau or Budgell. i'll become a fan for now i won't be shocked if this deal is proven to have been a poor one down the road tho he's never produced much really... despite having plenty of opportunities he's been on nothing but horrible teams tho so i'll take a wait and see approach i just think using our last drafted roster playing asset we could/should have done more with it |
