Not trying to hijack this thread but the T & T has really gone downhill.
The sports section today is one page and has 3 articles. 2 from the Washington Post and 1 from the Telegraph Journal.

Three players that stood out during the 1st scrimmage: Cornforth - Best player on the ice. I’d love if he stayed more than 48 hours. He’s a good one. Ballentyne - Like a 4th forward out there. Loves the join the rush. Supprien - This kid can skate. Wow. Fortier-Gendron and Grenier showed good chemistry which is promising for the future. I only saw parts of the scimmage but Lounsbury Smith and Bard stood out for me as well. Cornforth reminds me a bit of Garland in terms of size and agility, not likely the same hockey sense.

Smith is good in the 1st scrimmage ? Just browsed through the archive in YouTube but he had a couple of points and scored in the shootout.

It’s always nice when the guys that should look good actually do look good. I think Lounsbury could end up being a good middle 6 forward for the Cats in a year. I wonder if Cornforth is planning on paying his way after the first 48 hours so that he can stay a bit later. Not holding my breath, but you never know.

If he bothered showing up, maybe RKI signs a big cheque.

Lounsbury should easily be a top 9 guy from day 1 this year, by year end he could be the top C. He might be the best C on the roster right now. Who else do they have, Taibel? Pavan? Labelle played some but he is a natural winger.

Lyons seems to be finding some chemistry with Lounsbury and making the most of his opportunity.

Lyons seems to be finding some chemistry with Lounsbury and making the most of his opportunity. Yup, he looked good. Harder to evaluate the 18 year olds, as they should stand out among the mostly 16 and 17 year olds. I liked Solomon and Ballantyne but the real test will be with older players playing. Biggest disappointment for me is McPhee. I thought for a guy drafted pretty high in his 2nd camp taht he would stand out.

Yeah, I think having to trade for Lyons is also a downside despite him looking good in the first game. Moncton has a bit of a logjam at forward so unless he looks a lot better than some of the other guys then I have a hard time seeing them give up an asset for him just to be a depth forward.

McPhee hardly played last year, a few games with an unimpressive stat line … not sure why, I assume he just have been injured - whatever it was his development seems to have taken a hit.

Might be a guy to send to Jr.A(as long as he gets big minutes) and reevaluate at midseason...unless he really cranks it up the rest of camp.

According to the wildcats newest intra-squad game roster, he’s injured. So that will likely make his chance to make the roster worse.
