Craig Eagles seems really high on him based on his draft profile … Seems more raw than the 1st rounder but a lot of upside, will be interesting if they see him as a C or LW. He played his off-wing in Bantam AAA and lead the league in goals and assists. Might be an option as well.

I think he's someone that definitely could be a top player in the league at 19/20 but has a long way to go. I like Craig but don't think I agree with him in terms of the most ready Q prospect since Cormier. Smith is going to need to both lengthen his stride and become more explosive to be a top 6 player and drive the play. However, the potential is there (see 20/21 with KV).

Would have been nice to move Olson at this draft to get an extra pick. Perhaps there's no interest.

Definitely disappointed to see Pilote only go for a 5th, but I guess that was his value and they needed to clean up the backlog on d a bit. Skipping a couple picks, but Moncton just grabbed Gavin Cornforth in the 7th who played for Thayer last year. Seemed to have a good year. I wonder if it’s a Hail Mary or if they actually think he may show. He’s a dual citizen so he’s probably actually been to Canada before. www.eliteprospects.com/player/597531/gavin-cornforth I don’t mind Moncton taking shots at guys who may not report after the 5th round. As long as the first 5 picks are all coming. I've heard and read very good things. He was the 12th overall pick to Dubuque in the USHL Draft and he was invited to the US U17 Development Program camp and performed well. I doubt the Wildcats would use a pick on him in the Q Draft if there wasn't an interested in playing here.

Hopefully he’ll at least come to camp.

Neka Jean selected 133rd overall. He is the son of Frantz Bergevin-Jean.

I didn’t realize they still did the US portion of the Draft. We have the 7th pick

Doesn’t seem to be one on their Twitter account unless I missed it.
